Postal examination to be held in all regional languages, including Tamil

Seeking to pacify the agitated AIADMK members who were protesting to demand holding of postal examinations in Tamil language, the Government on Tuesday assured that the examination for the postman’s post would be held in all regional languages.
Making a statement in Rajya Sabha after the House met at 1432 Hours after a third adjournment on the issue, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad said,’’the examination held on July 14 for the postman’s post is cancelled. The examination will be held in all local languages, including Tamil.’’
Mr Prasad said the government respects all languages, including Tamil.
The statement by the Minister was welcomed by all members , including from the AIADMK, DMK. The left parties , the Samajwadi party and the Congress.
Earlier, the House had witnessed repeated adjournments due to uproar by members of the AIADMK who were protesting to demand that the examination be held in Tamil language.
