The Lok Sabha on Wednesday passed Appropriation Bill, 2019 and Demands for Grants for various ministries and departments under the Union Budget 2019-20.
The Lok Sabha on Wednesday passed Appropriation Bill, 2019 and Demands for Grants for various ministries and departments under the Union Budget 2019-20.
The Bill, introduced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, was passed by a voice vote.
The minister moved the Bill to authorise payment and appropriation of certain sums from and out of the Consolidation Fund of India for the services of the financial year 2019-20.
Earlier, Speaker Om Birla took up Demands for Grants of various ministries which were passed by the House of the People where Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also present.
Except five ministries, Demands for Grants for all ministries were passed in guillotine by voice vote.
Demands for Grants for Ministries of Railways, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Rural development, Road Transport and Highways and Sports and Youth Affairs were passed after discussions.
The Appropriation Bill, 2019 provides for appropriation out of the Consolidated Fund Of India of moneys required to meet the expenditure charged on the Consolidated Fund and Grants for financial year 2019-20.
The amount for 100 Services and purpose Voted by Parliament is Rs 301,39,50,33, 00,000 while
Rs 680, 49,53,49,000,00 was charged on the Consolidated Fund and the total was Rs 981,89,03,82,00,000.
