BJP MPs sit on fast to protest disruptions in Parliament by Opposition

New Delhi, Apr 12 – BJP MPs from Delhi, including Union Environment Minister Harsh Vardhan, on Thursday sat on a day-long fast at various parts of the city to protest against washout of the second part of the Budget session of Parliament by Congress and other opposition parties.

While Dr Vardhan sat along with party workers at Chandni Chowk Town Hall, East Delhi MP Mahesh Giri sat on fast at Car Bazar near Laxmi Nagar Metro Station and North East Delhi MP and BJP state chief Manoj Tiwari at Shastri Park.

The other MPs who sat on fast were New Delhi MP Meenakshi Lekhi, North West Delhi MP Udit Raj, and West Delhi MP Parvesh Sahib Singh.

Leader of Opposition of Delhi Assembly and BJP MLA, Vijender Gupta sat on fast along with Dr Udit Raj In Rohini’s DC Chowk while Ms Lekhi at CP’s Hnauman Mandir.

Union Minister Suresh Prabhu and Vijay Goel also participated in the protest here.

North East Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari said the protest was aimed to ‘save Democracy’.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party chief Amit Shah , along with other BJP MPs are on fast on Thursday to protest on the issue.

On Tuesday, it was announced that all the BJP MPs, including Prime Minister and BJP chief will observe a day-long fast on April 12, on the issue.
