New Delhi, Apr 6 : Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Friday arrived here on his maiden three-day India trip after taking office.
During his tour, he will hold talks with the top Indian leadership to strengthen the partnership between both the countries.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh received him at the airport.
Mr Oli is accompanied by his wife Radhika Shakya Oli.
In a tweet, Raveesh Kumar Spokesperson in the Ministry of External Affairs said, “Neighbourhood first! Prime Minister of Nepal KP Sharma Oli and Mrs Radhika Shakya were warmly welcomed by Home Minister Rajnath Singh on their arrival in India. This is the first State visit of Prime Minister Oli after being elected as Prime Minister of Nepal. #WelcomePMOli.”
He will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the evening ahead of the delegation-level talks on Saturday.
He will be accorded a ceremonial reception on Saturday at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, where he will call on President Ram Nath Kovind.
