लखनऊ। उत्तर प्रदेश में जहां विपक्षी दल बेरोजगारी को प्रमुख मुद्दा बनाये हुये है वहीं उ.प्र.के परिवहन मंत्री (स्वतंत्र प्रभार) दया शंकर सिंह नौकरियों के प्रति कान में तेल डाले बैठे हुये है। जबकि यशस्वी मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ का स्पष्ट निर्देश है कि जिस विभाग में पद रिक्त है, उनको या तो संविदा पर भरा जाये या स्थायी कर्मचारियों की नियुक्ति की जाये और जो कर्मचारी स्थायी रूप से कार्यरत थे और वे कार्य के दौरान दिवांगत हो गये थे उनके मृतक आश्रितों को तत्काल नौकरी पर रखा जाये। लेकिन खेद जनक है कि उ.प्र के परिवहन मंत्री (स्वतंत्र प्रभार) दया शंकर सिंह इसकी घोर अनदेखी कर रहे है। विभागीय सूत्रों के अनुसार बताया जाता है कि विगत 2018 से बहुत से परिवहन विभाग के स्थायी कर्मी परलोक सिधार गये और जनकी संख्या लगभग 1000 से अधिक है और कई वर्षों से नौकरी की बाट जोह रहे है, उनके परिवार के समक्ष रोजी रोटी व भुखमरी का संकट उत्पन्न हो गया है और परिवहन मंत्री दया शंकर सिंह से मृतक आश्रित दया की भीख मांग रहे है। बहुत से परिवहन कर्मी ऐसे है जिनकी मृत्यु कोरोना काल के दौरान हो गई थी और उन्हें जीवन बीमा विभाग द्वारा उनके परिजनों को परिवहन विभाग की लापरवाही से बीमा के क्लेम भी नहीं मिला। मृतक आश्रितों द्वारा परिवहन मुख्यालय पर कई दिनों तक धरना भी दिया गया था लेकिन कई दिनों बाद भी परिवहन मंत्री दया शंकर सिंह को दया नहीं आयी। सूत्रों के अनुसार मृतक आश्रितों के परिवहन कर्मियों का कहना है कि उनकी वरिष्ठता भी पीछे छूट चुकी है, नौकरी का पता नहीं है। विगत दिनों पूर्व विभाग द्वारा संविदा पर मर्ती हेतु विज्ञापन समाचार पत्रों में प्रकाशित कराये गये थे, लेकिन उसका नतीजा भी शून्य रहा। उत्तर प्रदेश के यशस्वी मुख्यमंत्री की योगी आदित्यनाथ को इसका तत्काल संज्ञान लेते हुये परिवहन मंत्री (स्वतंत्र प्रभार) दया शंकर सिंह को निर्देशित करना चाहिए कि मृतक आश्रितों के परिवार को तत्काल स्थायी नौकरी प्रदान की जाये व रिक्त पदों पर भी भर्ती करना चाहिए क्योकि विपक्ष हमेशा बेरोजगारी को मुद्दा बनाता रहता है और उ.प्र.सरकार को घेरने काकार्य करता है। उ.प्र.के यशस्वी मुख्यमंत्री आदित्य नाथ से दिवंगत हो चुके परिवहन कर्मियों के मृतक आश्रितों के परिजनों को आशातीत आशायें है।

   लखनऊ। उ.प्र. के राजस्व विभाग में लेखपालों का भ्रष्टाचार चरम पर है। इसी परिपेक्ष्य में सूत्रों के अनुसार बताया जाता है कि भ्रष्ट लेखपाल परवीन जहाँ के संरक्षण में अपने विभागीय कार्यों में भ्रष्टाचार के अतिरिक्त पारा थाना क्षेत्र में शकुन्तला मिश्रा विश्वविद्यालय के निकट अवैध डेरी का संचालन उसके पिता वाजिद अली के संरक्षण में धड़ल्ले से किया जा रहा है और केमिकल मिला दूध भी खुलेआम मार्केट में सिप्लाई किया जा रहा है, जबकि उसके पति द्वारा आशियाना चौकी में तय मानको के विपरीत डेरी भी चलाई जा रही है, जिसका पूर्ण संरक्षण भ्रष्ट लेखपाल परवीन जहां द्वारा संरक्षित है। सूत्रों के अनुसार बताया जाता है कि नगर निगम के नगर आयुक्त इन्द्रजीत सिंह का इस सम्बन्ध में स्पष्ट निर्देश है कि शहरी क्षेत्र में चल रही अवैध डेरियों तत्काल हटाई जाये, जबकि अपर नगर आयुक्त डॉ.अरविन्द राव के नेतृत्व में कई बार इन अवैध डेरियों के खिलाफ अभियान चलाया जा चुका है, जिस पर इन अवैध डेरियों का सरगना भ्रष्ट लेखपाल का पिता वाजिद अली सुनियोजित तरीके से नगर निगम की टीम पर भारी पथराव कराता है और आज भी भ्रष्ट नगर निगम कर्मियों की मिली भगत से अवैध डेरी को संचालित कर रहा है, जिसका पूर्ण संरक्षण भ्रष्ट लेखपाल परवीन जहां का प्राप्त है. बताया जाता है कि परवीन जहां लखनऊ के समीपस्थ जिले बाराबंकी में राजस्व अभिलेखागार में लेखपाल के पद पर कार्यरत है और जिला बाराबंकी में अपनी स्थायी सेवायें व निवास के बजाये रोजाना बाराबंकी से लखनऊ अपडाउन करती है और भ्रष्ट लेखपाल परवीन जहाँ द्वारा भ्रष्टाचार से अर्जित की गई धनराशि से काकोरी रोड़ पर अवैध मकान भी लखनऊ विकास प्राधिकरण से बिना मानसित्र स्वीकृत करवाये अवैध रूप से अपने नाम से बनवाया गया है। उसका यह निर्माण काकोरी रोड पर शिवानी ट्राली के निकट स्थित है। इसका विकास प्राधिकरण को संज्ञान लेना चाहिए और उसे तत्काल सील किया जाना चाहिए। उ.प्र.के उपमुख्यमंत्री केशव प्रसाद मौर्य को संज्ञान लेते हुये ऐसे भ्रष्ट लेखपाल का स्थानान्तरण तत्काल सुदूरवर्ती जिलों बाँदा या चित्रकूट में किया जाना चाहिए और उसके खिलाफ आय से अधिक सम्पत्ति की जाँच का आदेश देते हुये उ.प्र. भ्रष्टाचार निवारण संगठन से उसके भ्रष्टाचार की जाँच हेतु आदेशित करना चाहिए।उ.प्र.भाजपा के वरिष्ठ किसान नेता व पूर्व प्रदेश उपाध्यक्ष विवेक कुमार श्रीवास्तव ने ऐसी भ्रष्ट लेखपाल परवीन जहां को तत्काल निलम्बित करने की मांग उपमुख्यमंत्री केशव प्रसाद मौर्य से किया है तथा उ.प्र.नगर विकास मंत्री अरविन्द कुमार शर्मा से गुजारिश किया कि पुलिस बल की मौजूदगी में वाजिद अली के संरक्षण में पारा क्षेत्र में चल रही अवैध डेरियों को तत्काल प्रभाव से वहां से हटाने हेतु बुलडोजर की कार्यवाही हेतु नगर आयुक्त, नगर निगम इन्द्रजीत सिंह को आदेशित करना चाहिए।

लखनऊ विकास प्राधिकरण में विगत कई माह पूर्व नियुक्त हुये उपाध्यक्ष प्रथमेश कुमार के क्रियाकलापों से शहर में अवैध निर्माण में बंपर बाढ़ आ गयी है और उपाध्यक्ष लखनऊ विकास प्राधिकरण कान में तेल डाले बैठे है। उपाध्यक्ष प्रथमेश कुमार भ्रष्ट एल.डी.ए.कर्मियों को पूरा संरक्षण प्रदान कर रहे है और उसका परिणाम है कि एल.डी.ए.सुपरवाइजर से अवर अभियन्ता, सहायक अभियन्ता व जोनल अधिकारी सभी भ्रष्टाचारियों के अकण्ट में डूबे हुये है और एल.डी.ए. वी.सी.प्रथमेश कुमार भ्रष्ट कर्मियों पर कोई कार्यवाही नहीं कर रहे है। उन्होने नियुक्ति से लेकर आज तक किसी भी जोनल क्षेत्रों में कोई दौरा ब्यौरा नहीं किया होगा। जिसका परिणाम है कि लखनऊ शहर में अवैध निर्माण धड़ल्ले से जारी है। सूत्रों के अनुसार बताया जाता है कि जोन-1 के गोमती नगर क्षेत्र जो शहर का सबसे पाश इलाकों में आता है वहां अवैध निर्माणों में बम्पर बाढ़ आई हुई है और सभी भ्रष्ट कर्मियों की मिली भगत से निर्वाध रूप से अवैध निर्माण फलीभूत हो रहे है और भ्रष्ट कर्मियों द्वारा बदस्तूर अवैध निर्माणों से अवैध वसूली जारी है। सूत्रों के अनुसार बताया जाता है कि जोनल अधिकारी-1 देवांश त्रिवेदी एक ईमानदारी अधिकारी है, लेकिन इनका भ्रष्ट स्टेनों प्रतीक सोनकर सुपर वाइजर व अवर अभियन्ताओं से मिलकर बहुत सी शिकायतों को जोनल अधिकारी के समक्ष प्रस्तुत नहीं होने देता। भ्रष्ट स्टेनों प्रतीक सोनकर शिकायत कर्ता की शिकायतों को भ्रष्ट अभियन्ताओं को सूचित करता है, जिससे भ्रष्ट अभियन्ता एवं सुपरवाइजर शिकायत कर्ता पर अनावश्यक दबाव डालते है और सम्बन्धी पक्ष को भी बताने का काम करते है. जिससे रंजिशे बढ़ रहीं है। ऐसे भ्रष्ट स्टैनो प्रतीक सोनकर को तत्काल निलम्बित किया जाना चाहिए और उसके खिलाफ विभागीय जाँच की जानी चाहिए। सूत्रों के अनुसार बताया जाता है कि एल.डी.ए. उपाध्यक्ष प्रथमेश कुमार की नियुक्ति के बाद से लखनऊ के सभी जोनल क्षेत्रों में अवैध निर्माणों की बाढ़ तो आई है और मुख्यमंत्री के शिकायती पोर्टल आई.जी.आर.एस. पर की जाने वाली शिकायतों का भी निस्तारण भ्रष्ट एल.डी.ए.कर्मी/जोनल अधिकारी नहीं कर रहे है। बताया जाता है कि सभी जोनल क्षेत्रों में यदि विधिवत् मुआयना किया जाये तो अधिकांश क्षेत्रों में आवासीय नक्शे के विपरीत कर्मिशियल निर्माण तथा तय स्वीकृत मानचित्रों के विपरीत कई मंजिला अवैध निर्माण भी निर्वाद रूप से जारी है। इसके अतिरिक्त शहर के जिन क्षेत्रों में नक्शा स्वीकृत नहीं हो सकता है, वहां भी अवैध वसूली करके लाखो-लाखों की अवैध वसूली करके अवैध रो-हाउस व अवैध निर्माण अभियन्ताओं व जोनल अधिकारियों की मदद से जारी है। ईमानदारी का चोला पहने एल.डी.ए.उपाध्यक्ष प्रथमेश कुमार भ्रष्ट एल.डी.ए.कर्मियों को पूरा संरक्षण दे रहे है, इससे ऐसा प्रतीत होता है कि परोक्ष रूप से उनका समर्थन ऐसे भ्रष्ट कर्मियों को प्राप्त है और मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ की जीरों टॉलरेंस की नीति को भी एलडीए.वी.सी.प्रथमेश कुमार ठेगा दिखाने का काम कर रहे है।

  लखनऊ। प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की जन आकांक्षी योजना आयुष्मान योजना जनमानस को 5 लाख रूपये की मुफ्त चिकित्सा सुविधा को लेकर शुरू की गयी है। जिसमें सरकारी अस्पतालों के अलावा प्राइवेट अस्पताल भी सम्बद्ध किये गये हैं। जिससे कि कम आय वाले पात्र परिवार के लोगों को 5 लाख रूपये तक की मुफ्त चिकित्सा सुविधा अनुमन्य है और इसके सार्थक परिणाम भी आ रहे हैं। जिससे कम आय वाले पात्र लोगों को बहुत लाभ हो रहा है। प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की जन आकांक्षी योजना आयुष्मान योजना पूरे देश में लागू हैं और उत्तर प्रदेश चूंकि देश का बड़ा राज्य हैं जहां 24 करोड़ की आबादी निवास करती है। इस योजना से पात्र जनमानस को बहुत राहत मिल रही है। इस संबंध में बताया जाता है कि बहुत खेदजनक है कि कतिपय भ्रष्ट व ठगी प्रवृत्ति के लोग आयुष्मान योजना का लाभ उठाते हुए अनैतिक व फर्जी तरीके से अपात्र लोगों के फर्जी आयुष्मान कार्ड रू.पांच हजार रूपये से दस हजार रूपये लेकर धड़ल्ले से बना रहे हैं और सम्बद्ध प्राईवेट अस्पतालों से सांठ-गांठ कर पांच लाख रूपये की इलाज की राशि अवैध तरीके से बंदर बांट कर रहे हैं। इसमें अस्पताल प्रबन्धन की भी प्रबल भूमिका है। सूत्रों के अनुसार बताया जाता है कि राजू मिश्रा पुत्र स्व०.रामचन्द्र मिश्रा निवासी कैलाशपुरी, आनन्द नगर, आलमबाग, लखनऊ प्रतिष्ठान बाला जी बुक सेन्टर, लीला टॉकिज के निकट, एस.के. डी.कोचिंग के सामने, हजरतगंज, लखनऊ द्वारा धड़ल्ले से फर्जी आयुष्मान कार्ड बनाये जा रहे हैं। राजू मिश्रा के इस कृत्य में उसका बड़ा भाई संजय मिश्रा व उसका साला विभाकर तिवारी प्रमुख रूप से सहयोगी रहता है। सूत्रों के अनुसार बताया जाता है कि राजू मिश्रा द्वारा अपात्र होने के बावजूद बनारसी तिवारी का फर्जी आयुष्मान कार्ड तीन हजार की धनराशि लेकर बनाया गया। इसके अतिरिक्त अपात्रता वाले रामदुलारे व सुश्री राजकुमारी का भी फर्जी आयुष्मान कार्ड बनाया गया जो सर्वथा गलत है। सूत्रों के अनुसार बनारसी तिवारी के बारे में बताया जाता है कि वह हजरतगंज में लगभग 15 वर्षों से बिना वैट व जी.एस.टी. पंजीकरण के तिवारी गर्ल्स हॉस्टल निर्बाध रूप से चला रहा है और उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार को 18 प्रतिशत जी०एस.टी. का चूना लगा रहा है जबकि 01 जुलाई 2017 से जी०एस०टी० लागू किया गया है। बताया जाता है कि इसके द्वारा बॉटनिकल गार्डेन के सामने सूर्या कालोनी में भी गर्ल्स हॉस्टल वर्षों तक संचालित किया गया जो अवांछनीय गतिविधि के कारण बंद हो गया तथा अवध टॉवर बिल्डिंग में कैनरा बैंक हजरतगंज के निकट भी इसके द्वारा ब्यॉज हॉस्टल संचालित होता था जो अनैतिक गतिविधियों के कारण बंद हो गया लेकिन उ०प्र० सरकार को 18 प्रतिशत जी०एस०टी० का भारी चूना बनारसी तिवारी द्वारा लगाया गया। बताया जाता है कि बनारसी तिवारी द्वारा अपात्रता के बावजूद किसान सम्मान निधि का अनुचित तरीके से लाभ लिया जा रहा है जो बनारसी तिवारी के आधार कार्ड सं0-222485223116 तथा उसके पैन कार्ड सं. AGWPT8435G व बचत खाता – यूको बैंक अशोक मार्ग लखनऊ की जांच में उजागर हो जायेगा। भारतीय जनता पार्टी के पूर्व प्रदेश उपाध्यक्ष विवेक श्रीवास्तव (किसान नेता) ने उ. प्र.के पुलिस महानिदेशक, प्रशान्त कुमार को पत्र लिखकर राजू मिश्रा व संजय मिश्रा व इनके सहयोगियों द्वारा बनाये जा रहे फर्जी आयुष्मान कार्ड की गहनता से जांच कराकर इनके खिलाफ संगत धाराओं में मुकदमा पंजीकृत कर जेल भेजने की मांग किया है। और प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी के जन आकांक्षी योजना आयुष्मान योजना के फर्जी आयुष्मान कार्ड के बड़े रैकेट का खुलासा होगा। इसमें बनारसी तिवारी से भी कड़ाई से पूछतांछ की जाय तो सारे तथ्य उजागर हो जायेंगे क्योंकि बताया जाता है कि राजू मिश्रा द्वारा बनारसी मिश्रा को अवैध सट्टे के व्यापार में संलिप्तता है जो राजू मिश्रा व बनारसी तिवारी के मोबाइल नंबर से उजागर हो जायेगा।

लखनऊ। स्कूलों में आयोजित समर कैंप में सामाजिक संस्था नमोकंचन सेवा समिति द्वारा विद्यार्थी जागरूकता अभियान चलाया जा रहा है। शनिवार को मोतीनगर स्थित श्रीमद दयानंद बाल सदन पहुंची संस्था अध्यक्ष कंचन सोलंकी की ओर से वस्तु विकास परियोजना और स्कूलों में छात्रों के भविष्य की बुनियादी रणनीति पर मंथन करते हुए उनके डिजिटल साक्षरता की जरूरत और इससे समय की बचत के प्रभावी आयामों के बारे में बच्चों को जागरूक किया गया। संस्था के सचिव राजेश साहू ने बच्चों की शिक्षा व्यवस्था और उनके बाल अधिकारों पर विशेष बल दिया। पर्यावरण जागरूकता और दिनचर्या में इसकी उपयोगिता के बारे में बात करते हुए सर्वज्ञ सिंह और अजय प्रकाश द्वारा बच्चों को पौष्टिक संतुलित जलपान करने और इससे मानसिक स्वास्थ्य रहने के लिए जागरूक किया। कार्यक्रम के बाद संस्था की ओ र से जागरूक बच्चों को चयनित कर पुरस्कृत करते हुए उन्हें ड्राईफ्रूट और लंच पैकेट दिए गये।

लखनऊ। लोकसभा चुनाव 2024 का बिगुल बज चुका है और इसी क्रम में प्रथम चरण का चुनाव गत 19 अप्रैल को 102 लोकसभा सीटों पर सम्पन्न हो गया। हमारे देश के यशस्वी प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने अबकी बार 400 पार का नारा दिया है, इसके लिये वह पूरे देश में धुँआधार रैलियाँ कर रहे हैं और विगत 10 वर्षों के दौरान उनकी सरकार द्वारा किये गये कार्यों को भी जनमानस के समक्ष पुरजोर तरीके से रखते हैं। उनके उद्बोधन में भ्रष्टाचारियों के प्रति भी कड़ा सन्देश रहता है कि भ्रष्टाचारी कितना भी बड़ा हो उस पर एक्शन सुनिश्चित है। उनके साथ ही साथ गृह मंत्री अमित शाह भी रैलियों में कोई कसर नहीं छोड़ रहे हैं और भाजपा के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष जगत प्रकाश नड्डा पार्टी भी कमान सम्भालने के साथ ही साथ धुँआधार रैली कर रहे हैं। उत्तर प्रदेश के लोकप्रिय मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ भी भाजपा की रैलियों में धुँआधार प्रचार करते दिखाई दे रहे हैं क्योंकि उत्तर प्रदेश देश का सबसे बड़ा राज्य है और लोकसभा की 80 सीटे यहां से आती हैं। जिसको जिताने की कमान योगी आदित्यनाथ ने सम्भाल रखी है और उत्तर प्रदेश में उन्होंने सुशासन के साथ भयमुक्त शासन का राज कायम किया है। मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की सभी योजनाओं का क्रियान्वित कर जनता को उसका सीधा लाभ पहुँचाया है। भ्रष्टाचार के प्रति योगी की जीरो टॉलरेन्स की नीति भी रहती है उस पर कार्यवाही भी सुनिश्चित रहती है। लोकसभा चुनाव के साथ ही साथ निर्वाचन आयोग ने उत्तर प्रदेश की विधानसभा में विधायक के निधन से रिक्त सीट पर भी विधानसभा उप चुनाव कराने का निर्णय लिया है। लखनऊ में पूर्वी विधायक रहे स्व.आशुतोष टण्डन के निधन से रिक्त हुई सीट पर भी 20 मई 2024 को लोकसभा चुनाव के साथ वोट डाले जायेंगे। भाजपा सूत्रों के अनुसार मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ स्व. आशुतोष टण्डन के कनिष्ठ भ्राता अमित टण्डन को विधानसभा के उपचुनाव में भाजपा का टिकट दिलाना चाहते थे क्योंकि स्व.लालजी टण्डन का उत्तर प्रदेश की राजनीति में भाजपा को मजबूत करने में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान रहा है तथा बहन मायावती की बसपा के साथ उनके अथक प्रयास से ही उत्तर प्रदेश में भाजपा की सरकार बनी। स्व.लालजी टण्डन 2009 से 2014 तक लखनऊ लोकसभा से लोकप्रिय सांसद भी रहे। उनके कार्यकाल में लखनऊ की जनता ने विकास के नये आयाम देखे। उनके लखनऊ के विकास के योगदान को जनता कभी नहीं भूल सकती है। वहीं पूर्वी से विधायक रहे उनके सुपुत्र स्व.आशुतोष टण्डन सन् 2014 में पूर्व विधानसभा के उपचुनाव में विजयी रहे इसके बाद 2017 के विधानसभा चुनाव में भी वह विजयी रहे और कैबिनेट मंत्री मी बने और 2022 के विधानसभा चुनाव में उन्होंने पूर्वी विधानसभा से विजयश्री हासिल की। स्व.आशुतोष टण्डन की कोई भी सन्तान राजनीति में सक्रिय नहीं थी इसलिए उनके कनिष्ठ भ्राता अमित टण्डन को विधानसभा उपचुनाव के टिकट के साथ स्व.लालजी टण्डन के परिवार की विरासत मिलने की उम्मीद जताई जा रहीं थीं। स्व. लालजी टण्डन के निधन के पश्चात् पुराने लखनऊ की सुधि लेने वाला कोई नहीं रहा। भाजपा सूत्रों के अनुसार वर्तमान सांसद व रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह टण्डन परिवार से पुरानी अदावत के कारण पुराने लखनऊ का न ही दौरा करते हैं और न ही सुधि लेते हैं। भाजपा सूत्रों के अनुसार पूर्वी विधानसमा के होने वाले उपचुनाव के लिये भाजपा ने इस बार सपा सरकार में पूर्व नगर विकास मंत्री आजम खां व माफिया डॉन मुख्तार अन्सारी के अभिन्न सहयोगी ओम प्रकाश श्रीवास्तव को भाजपा का टिकट दिया है जिससे भाजपा महानगर का कार्यकर्ता व पूर्वी विधानसभा का छोटे से बड़ा कार्यकर्ता आक्रोशित व उद्वेलित है। भाजपा सूत्रों के अनुसार ओ. पी.श्रीवास्तव माफिया डॉन मुख्तार अन्सारी की विधायक निधि के ठेके उत्तर प्रदेश जल निगम की कार्यदायी संस्था सी.एण्ड डी.एस. के माध्यम से लेता था और दबंगई के बल पर उन ठेकों को लेता था और आधा-अध् पूरा कार्य कराकर पूरा भुगतान प्राप्त कर लेता था। माफिया डॉन मुख्तार अन्सारी से सांठ-गांठ होने के कारण तथा आजम खां का वरहद हस्त होने के कारण ओ.पी. श्रीवास्तव ने अकूत धन अवैध तरीके से अर्जित किया जिसकी निष्पक्ष जांच करा ली जाय तो दूध का दूध पानी का पानी हो जायेगा। 2017 में अखिलेश यादव की सरकार जाने के बाद ओ.पी. श्रीवास्तव ने लखनऊ भाजपा सांसद राजनाथ सिंह के कनिष्ठ सुपुत्र भाजपा नेता नीरज सिंह का दामन थामा और उन्होंने उसके अन्य सहयोगियों को भी ओ.पी. श्रीवास्तव के साथ भाजपा में शामिल करा दिया। भाजपा सूत्रों के अनुसार नीरज सिंह का विशेष योगदान ओ.पी. श्रीवास्तव को शामिल कराने में रहा। सूत्रों के अनुसार बताया जाता है कि भाजपा नेता नीरज सिंह ने ओ.पी.श्रीवास्तव को भाजपा पूर्वी विधानसभा का टिकट दिलाने में अहम् भूमिका निभाई है और चर्चाओं के अनुसार इसके एवज में ओ.पी. श्रीवास्तव से 10 करोड़ रूपये की मोटी रकम भी प्राप्त की है। भाजपा सूत्रों के अनुसार जबकि भाजपा नेता नीरज सिंह उ. प्र.भाजपा के अध्यक्ष भूपेन्द्र चौधरी हो या संगठन मंत्री धर्मपाल सिंह सैनी उन सभी की उपेक्षा के साथ ठेगे पर रखता है क्योंकि वह पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री व रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह का कनिष्ठ सुपुत्र है। बताया जाता है कि अभी विगत दिनों प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी के विकसित भारत अभियान में फर्जी तरीके से आंकड़ों की बाजीगरी करके द्वितीय स्थान प्राप्त किया व भाजपा के राष्ट्रीय महामंत्री सुनील बंसल से पुरस्कृत भी हुआ। जबकि 2022 के विधानसभा चुनाव में नीरज सिंह की निष्क्रियता के चलते लखनऊ लोकसभा के अन्तर्गत आने वाली मध्य व पश्चिमी विधानसभा सीट भाजपा प्रत्याशी बहुत कम अन्तर से हार गये। उनके प्रचार में स्वयं राजनाथ सिंह लखनऊ सांसद भी गायब रहे। इसकी कार्यकर्ताओं में जबरदस्त चर्चा रही। भाजपा सूत्रों के अनुसार नीरज सिंह द्वारा ही महानगर अध्यक्ष भाजपा के पद पर आनन्द द्विवेदी की नियुक्ति करायी गयी है जो नीरज सिंह की चाटुकारिता व चापलूसी में लगे रहते हैं। भाजपा कार्यकर्ता बहुत ही निराश है और आक्रोशित है सूत्रों के अनुसार जबकि सांसद राजनाथ सिंह के ज्येष्ठ सुपुत्र पंकज सिंह विधायक 2014 में गृह मंत्रालय में सी.पी. कैमरा लगाने के टेन्डर के एवज में 100 करोड़ की मोटी रकम ले चुके थे जिसे प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी के संज्ञान में आने के बाद उनके निर्देश पर उसे वापस करना पड़ा था, जिससे सांसद राजनाथ परिवार की भारी किरकिरी हुई थीं। चूंकि विधायक पंकज सिंह सांसद व रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह के ज्येष्ठ सुपुत्र हैं इसलिये 2017 और 2022 के विधानसभा चुनाव में उनका टिकट नहीं काटा गया लेकिन उसका खामियाजा यह भुगतना पड़ा कि विधायक पंकज सिंह 2017 व 2022 में योगी मंत्री मंडल से बाहर रहे। जबकि योगी आदित्यनाथ भ्रष्टाचार के प्रति जीरो टॉलरेन्स की नीति का कड़ाई से अनुपालन कराते हैं. इसके बावजूद भाजपा नेता नीरज सिंह नसीहत न लेते हुए भ्रष्टाचार कर रहे हैं, जिसको लेकर भाजपा कार्यकर्ताओं में चर्चाओं का बाजार गर्म है।भाजपा शीर्ष नेतृत्व भाजपा के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष जगत प्रकाश नड्डा, यशस्वी प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी तथा गृह मंत्री अमित शाह को भाजपा कार्यकर्ताओं की भावनाओं का आदर करते हुए आजम खां व माफिया डॉन मुख्तार अन्सारी के अभिन्न सहयोगी रहे ओ.पी. श्रीवास्तव को पूर्वी विधानसभा के उपचुनाव के प्रत्याशी का टिकट अविलम्ब काट देना चाहिए और किसी वरिष्ठ कार्यकर्ता को या स्व. लालजी टण्डन के परिवार का भाजपा में योगदान को देखते हुए उनके सुपुत्र अमित टण्डन को प्रत्याशी बनाना चाहिए इससे भाजपा की जनमानस में स्वच्छ व ईमानदार की छवि बरकरार रहेगी और कोई राजनैतिक दल उस पर टिप्पणी नहीं कर सकेगा।

लखनऊ: उत्तर प्रदेश की योगी सरकार भ्रष्टाचार के प्रति जीरो टालरेंस की नीति पर कायम है और भ्रष्टाचार के प्रति योगी आदित्यनाथ का कठोर रवैया भी रहता है लेकिन कतिपय भ्रष्ट अधिकारी योगी आदित्यनाथ की जीरों टालरेंस की नीति को ठेंगा दिखा रहे है और भ्रष्टाचार से बाज नहीं आ रहे है तथा भारी लूट खसोट में लिप्त है तथा वह भ्रष्टाचार के आकंठ में डूबे हुये है। इनके ऊपर कार्यवाही होनी चाहिए। ऐसे ही उ.प्र. सरकार के भ्रष्ट अधिकारी हैं निदेशक, सूचना एवं जनसम्पर्क विभाग शिशिर सिंह, जो कई वर्षो से इस पद पर बने हुये है और भारी भ्रष्टाचार में डूबे हुुये है। सूचना एवं जनसम्पर्क विभाग के बजट से ही छोटे बड़े व मझले समाचार पत्रों को डी.ए.वी.पी. रेट पर तथा इलेक्ट्रानिक चैनलों को भी उ.प्र. सरकार की योजनाओं के करोड़ो के विज्ञापन व टेण्डर के विज्ञापन जारी किये जाते है। सूत्रों के अनुसार बताया जाता है कि भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक शिशिर सिंह, विज्ञापन एजेन्सियों से जारी होने वाले विज्ञापनों में धड़ल्ले से एजेन्सियों से उनके 15 प्रतिशत कमीशन में से 10प्रतिशत ले लेता है, यह सिलसिला बदसतूर जारी है। इसके अतिरिक्त सूचना विभाग द्वारा लगायी जाने वाली इलेक्ट्रानिक होल्डिंग व सामान्य होल्डिंग के ठेकेदारों से लंबी रिश्वत् ली जाती है क्योकि उ.प्र. देश का सबसे बड़ा राज्य है और सूचना विभाग उ.प्र. सरकार की योजनाओं का प्रचार-प्रसार पूरे प्रदेश में इन्हीं के द्वारा करता है। इसीलिए इस विभाग का करोड़ो रूपये का बजट होता है। इलेक्ट्रानिक होल्डिंग व सामान्य होल्डिंग में बड़ा घोटाला इस भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक शिशिर सिंह द्वारा किया जाता है। उदाहारणार्थ यदि किसी फर्म को 300 होल्डिंग का आर्डर दिया जाता है तो लगायी सिर्फ मुख्य जगहों पर 100 ही जाती है और बिलिंग पूरे की होती है और उसकी क्वालिटी भी निम्न स्तर की होती है। जबकि ब्लैक बैंक किस्म के फ्लैक्स लगाये जाने चाहिए और इलेक्ट्रानिक होल्डिंग कितने समय चल रही है, उनका क्या तय समय है। यह सब इसके भ्रष्ट अधिनस्थों द्वारा किये जाने के कारण उसकी कोई पकड़ नहीं हो पाती है। आज सोशल मीडिया का युग है। इस दौर में इलेक्ट्रानिक चैनलों को डाॅक्यूमेन्टरी फिल्म चलाने व विज्ञापन जारी किये जाते है, जो इलेक्ट्रानिक चैनल मानक नहीं पूरा करते है, उनको भी भारी मात्रा मंे विज्ञापन जारी किया जाता है। इस कृत्य को उसका चहेता सूचनाकर्मी राजीव सिंह करता है, जो वरिष्ठ पत्रकारों की शिकायत पर विगत दिनों समाचार पत्रों के विज्ञापन के प्रभार से ईमानदार प्रमुख सचिव संजय प्रसाद (सूचना) के निर्देश पर हटाया जा चुका है लेकिन भ्रष्ट निदेशक शिशिर सिंह का चहेता होने के कारण वह इस कार्य को कर रहा है। सूत्रों के अनुसार बताया जाता है कि मानक पूरा नहीं करने वाले चैनलों को जारी होने वाले विज्ञापनों से 50 प्रतिशत तक कमीशन वसूल कर राजीव सिंह द्वारा भ्रष्ट निदेशक को पहुॅचाया जाता है। इसके अतिरिक्त दैनिक समाचार पत्रों, पत्रिकाओं, मैगजीन को जारी होने वाले विज्ञापनों में विज्ञापन एजेन्सी को मिलने वाले 15 प्रतिशत कमीशन में से 10 प्रतिशत कमीशन लिया जाता है, जिसके लिए उनका पी.ए. परशुराम मौर्या तथा प्रशासनिक अधिकारी प्रमोद कुमार व अन्य सूचनाकर्मी संदीप ओझा विशेष रूप से उसको भ्रष्टाचारी कृत्य में सहयोगी रहते है। किसी भी प्रकार की पत्रिकाओं, जिनका डी.ए.वी.पी.रेट नहीं है, उनको भी भारी मात्रा में विज्ञापन लेन-देन करके जारी किये जाते है। उनको योगी आदित्यनाथ की उपलब्धियों के समाचार से कोई लेना-देना नहीं रहता है। बताया जाता है कि कई ऐसे न्यूज चैनल जो सिर्फ सोशल मीडिया प्लेटफार्म पर है, उनको कई करोड़ के विज्ञापनों का भुगतान शपथ-पत्र के आधार पर भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक शिशिर सिंह द्वारा रिश्वत लेकर किया गया है, जिसकी जाॅच करा ली जाये तो यह मामला स्पष्ट हो जायेगा। सूत्रों के अनुसार बताया जाता है कि भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक शिशिर सिंह घूस की रकम ठोस सोने के रूप में लेता है। भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक शिशिर सिंह की बदमीजाजी का यह आलम है कि वह छोटे व मझले समाचार पत्रों के रिपोर्टरों व महिला पत्रकारों से बदसलूकी से बात करता है, जिससे उ.प्र. सरकार की बहुत किरकिरी हो रही है जबकि कोरोना काल में उ.प्र.सरकार की बहुत किरकिरी समाचार पत्रों में हुई थी। यह भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक उसको मैनेज नहीं कर सका था।
सूत्रों के अनुसार बताया जाता है कि भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक शिशिर सिंह द्वारा भ्रष्टाचार से अर्जित रकम से लखनऊ के मोहनलालगंज में अपने परिजनों के नाम से 200 बीघे जमीन की खरीदी जा चुकी है, जिस पर वह विश्वविद्यालय का निर्माण कराना चाहता है। इसके अतिरिक्त लखनऊ से सटे उन्नाव जनपद में भी उसने सैकड़ों बीघे जमीन खरीद रखी है, जिसकी कीमत करोड़ो रूपये में है। इसके अलावा चर्चाओं के अनुसार उसने देश की राजधानी दिल्ली में होटल तथा देश के आर्थिक राजधानी मुम्बई में होटल खरीद रखा है, जो उसके परिजनों के नाम से है। इस भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक शिशिर सिंह की आय से अधिक सम्पत्ति की जाॅच देश के गृह मंत्री अमित शाह को इसका संज्ञान लेते हुये प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ई.डी.) तथा सी.बी.आई. (विजिलेंस शाखा) द्वारा नोटिस जारी कर गहनता से जाॅच करानी चाहिए, जिसमें उसके करोड़ो के भ्रष्टाचार का खुलासा होना सुनिश्चित है। भारत सरकार के कार्मिक मंत्रालय डी.ओ.पी.टी. को भी इसका संज्ञान लेना चाहिए। वैसे भी हमारे देश के यशस्वी प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की स्पष्ट नीति है कि भ्रष्टाचारी कोई भी हो, उसे छोड़ा नहीं जायेगा, उसकी पहुॅच चाहे कितनी भी हो।
सूत्रों के अनुसार भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक शिशिर सिंह की बदमीजाजी का यह आलम है कि वह उ.प्र.सरकार के ईमानदार आई.ए.एस. अधिकारी संजय प्रसाद प्रमुख सचिव मुख्यमंत्री, सूचना, गृह के आदेशों की भी अनदेखी करता रहता है। चूंकि मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ के कर्मठ, ईमानदार
अधिकारी संजय प्रसाद प्रमुख सचिव सबसे प्रिय है। इसलिए इसकी मजबूरी हो जाती है। प्रमुख सचिव, सूचना संजय प्रसाद को उ.प्र.सूचना निदेशालय में वर्षो से चल रहे भ्रष्टाचार और इस भ्रष्टाचार में भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक के सहयोगी सूचनाकर्मियों परशुराम मौर्य, राजीव सिंह, प्रमोद कुमार, संदीप ओझा की आय से अधिक सम्पत्ति की जाॅच उ.प्र.सर्तकता अधिष्ठान से कराना चाहिए तथा इनके व्यक्तिगत मोबाइल नम्बरों के कई माह पूर्व के काॅल डिटेल का रिकाॅर्ड भी जाॅच कर छानबीन करनी चाहिए और उनको उनके पदों से हटाकर अन्य सूचना कर्मियों की नियुक्ति करनी चाहिए तभी भ्रष्टाचार का खुलासा हो सकेगा।
भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक शिशिर सिंह के भ्रष्टाचार की चर्चा कई वर्षो से उसके निदेशक पद पर जमे रहने के कारण सत्ता के गलियारों में बनी रहती है। ऐसा भी नहीं है कि भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक शिशिर सिंह के नहीं रहने से सूचना विभाग नहीं चल पायेगा या उ. प्र. सरकार की योजनाओं का प्रचार-प्रसार नहीं हो सकेगा। इसके भ्रष्टाचार की जाॅच होने से ही मुख्यमंत्री योगी की जीरो टालरेंस नीति का अनुपालन हो सकेगा। अतः मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ का हंटर ऐसे भ्रष्टाचारी पर चलना जरूरी है तभी छोटे मझोले पत्रकारों, महिला पत्रकारों को सम्मान मिल सकेगा।

लखनऊ। उत्तर प्रदेश के सूचना निदेशालय में भ्रष्टाचार थमने का नाम नहीं ले रहा है। सूत्रों के अनुसार बताया जाता है कि भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक शिशिर सिंह और उसके भ्रष्टाचारी सूचना कर्मी परशुराम मौर्य, प्रमोद कुमार, राजीव सिंह, संदीप ओझा भ्रष्टाचार के आकंठ में लिप्त है, भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक के क्रिया-कलापों की जाॅच हेतु कंचन उजाला समाचार पत्र द्वारा भारत की सी.बी.आई. व प्रवर्तन निदेशालय के निदेशकों को पत्र भेजकर भी भ्रष्ट निदेशक के भ्रष्टाचार के जाॅच की गुहार लगाई गई है और यशस्वी प्रधानमंत्री को भी दैनिक कंचन उजाला समाचार पत्र और मासिक पत्रिका लखनऊ की मूल प्रतियाॅ भी उपलब्ध करायी गई है।
मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ को अविलम्ब ऐसे भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक, शिशिर सिंह को निलम्बित कर जाॅच का आदेश देना चाहिए, क्योंकि यह खुलेआम योगी की जीरों टाॅलरेंस नीति को ठेंगा दिखा रहा है और सूचना विभाग के करोड़ों के बजट को लूट रहा है। सी.बी.आई. व ई.डी. की जाॅच में इसकी आय से अधिक सम्पत्ति की जाॅच व इसके परिजनों के नाम से खरीदी गई अरबों रूपये की बेनामी तथा अवैध सम्पत्ति का निश्चित रूप से खुलासा होगा। दैनिक कंचन उजाला समाचार पत्र द्वारा पूर्व में इस भ्रष्ट निदेशक के खिलाफ समाचार छापने पर कुछ समाचार पत्रों द्वारा भ्रष्ट निदेशक के पक्ष में समाचार छापे गये, जबकि कंचन उजाला समाचार पत्र का कोई भी अधिकृत प्रतिनिधि विगत कई माह से निदेशालय गया ही नहीं है तो विज्ञापन की मांग का आरोप लगाना ही औचित्यहीन है। उन समाचार पत्रों द्वारा भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक शिशिर सिंह के पक्ष में समाचार प्रकाशित कर विज्ञापन प्राप्त करने का खेल किया जा रहा है।
जबकि विदित हो कि दैनिक कंचन उजाला समाचार पत्र द्वारा भ्रष्टाचारियों के खिलाफ विगत कई वर्षो से निर्बाध गति से समाचार प्रकाशित किये जाते रहे है। योगी आदित्यनाथ की उ.प्र. सरकार की आसरा योजना (गरीबों को फ्री आवास) जिसमें पात्र व्यक्ति की आय वार्षिक 72,000/- से कम हो उसे ही फ्री आवास आवंटित किये जाते है। इसकी 09 जून, 2022 को नगर निगम में हुई थी लाॅटरी, जिसमें पात्र 1059 में से 600 लोगों की लाॅटरी निकाली गई थी और डी.एम., लखनऊ सूर्यपाल गंगवार द्वारा जाॅच के आदेश दिये गये और उस समय के तत्कालीन जिला परियोजना अधिकारी (डूडा) सुधीर कुमार सिंह द्वारा जाॅच में 600 में से 198 आसरा आवास के अभ्यर्थी अपात्र मिलें। दैनिक कंचल उजाला के समाचार का यह असर रहा कि पात्र लोगों को भी दो लोगों के शपथ-पत्र और उनके आधार कार्ड द्वारा ही आसरा आवास के आवंटन जारी हुये। इसके अतिरिक्त पूर्व में प्रधानमंत्री महोदय की कई योजनाओं में हो रहे घोटाले को उजागर करने पर उन योजनाओं पर भी विराम लग चुका है। अतः ऐसे समाचार पत्रों को भ्रष्ट निदेशक की नजरों में सिर्फ विज्ञापन प्राप्त करने के लिए ऐसे तथ्यहीन समाचारों से बचना चाहिए क्योंकि पत्रकार सच को उजाकर करते है। भ्रष्ट निदेशक के भ्रष्टाचारी क्रिया-कलापों को उजागर करने का एक मात्र उद्देश्य पत्रकारों के कल्याण के लिए ही है।
भारतीय जनता पार्टी के पूर्व प्रदेश उपाध्यक्ष (किसान मोर्चा) व वरिष्ठ नेता भाजपा विवेक कुमार श्रीवास्तव ने मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ से मांग किया है कि भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक शिशिर सिंह और उसके सहयोगियों को तत्काल निलम्बित कर सूचना निदेशालय में वर्षो से हो रहे करोड़ो के घोटाले व भ्रष्टाचार की जाॅच ईमानदार प्रमुख सचिव संजय प्रसाद के नेतृत्व में कमेटी का गठन कर कराना चाहिए, जिसमें अरबों रूपये का भ्रष्टाचार उजागर होगा।
विवेक कुमार श्रीवास्तव, वरिष्ठ भाजपा नेता ने कहा कि देश के गृह मंत्री अमित शाह को संज्ञान लेते हुये ऐसे भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक शिशिर सिंह के अरबों रूपये के घोटाले की जाॅच सी.बी.आई. और ई.डी.से कराना चाहिए। तभी प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की भ्रष्टाचार के प्रति जीरों टाॅलरेंस की नीति प्रभावी ढ़ग से कारगर होगी।

कंचन उजाला। केंद्रीय सूचना और प्रसारण मंत्री अनुराग सिंह ठाकुर ने आज नई दिल्ली के राष्ट्रीय मीडिया केंद्र में आयोजित एक कार्यक्रम में प्रसार भारती की समाचार साझाकरण सेवा पीबी-एसएचएबीडी और दूरदर्शन समाचार और आकाशवाणी समाचार की वेबसाइट के साथ-साथ नावीनतम न्यूज ऑन एयर मोबाइल ऐप जारी किया।
इस अवसर पर उन्होंने कहा कि आज देश के सूचना और प्रसारण क्षेत्र के लिए एक ऐतिहासिक दिन है। उन्होंने कहा, “पिछले कुछ वर्षों में, प्रसार भारती ने हर क्षेत्रीय भाषा में देश के हर कोने से समाचार एकत्र करने के साथ-साथ समाचार वितरण का एक विस्तृत नेटवर्क विकसित किया है। अब हमारा इस सटीक और सार्थक सामग्री को भारत के बाकी प्रिंट और इलेक्ट्रॉनिक मीडिया उद्योग के साथ साझा करने का विचार है।” केंद्रीय मंत्री महोदय ने आगे कहा कि समाचार संगठनों को स्वच्छ फ़ीड प्रदान की जाएगी और इसमें दूरदर्शन का प्रतीक चिन्ह नहीं होगा। यह फ़ीड देश के सभी कोनों से विभिन्न भाषाओं में सामग्री एकत्रित करेगी। इससे समाचार उद्योग में क्रांति आएगी और उन छोटे समाचार संगठनों को बड़े पैमाने पर सहायता मिलेगी जिनके पास सामग्री एकत्र करने के लिए व्यापक नेटवर्क का प्रबंध नहीं है। उन्होंने कहा कि पीबी-एसएचएबीडी ऐसे सभी संगठनों के लिए समाचार सामग्री प्रदान करने के लिए एक स्थान पर उपलब्ध स्रोत होगा।
केंद्रीय मंत्री ने आगे बताया कि पीबी-एसएचएबीडी सेवा एक आरंभिक प्रस्ताव के रूप में पहले वर्ष के लिए नि:शुल्क रूप से प्रस्तुत की जा रही है और यह पचास श्रेणियों में सभी प्रमुख भारतीय भाषाओं में समाचार सामग्री प्रदान करेगी।

दूरदर्शन समाचार और आकाशवाणी की संशोधित वेबसाइट और न्यूज़ ऑन एआईआर ऐप के बारे में कहा कि आकाशवाणी समाचार व्यापक मोबाइल कनेक्टिविटी के युग में भी बहुत अधिक प्रासंगिक बना हुआ है और अब भी सरकारी योजनाओं और नीतियों के बारे में सटीक जानकारी का प्रमुख स्रोत है। नवीन ऐप में कई नई सुविधाएं, जैसे व्यक्तिगत समाचार फ़ीड, ब्रेकिंग न्यूज के लिए पुश नोटिफिकेशन, मल्टीमीडिया सामग्री एकीकरण, ऑफ़लाइन पढ़ने की क्षमता, वास्तविक समय कवरेज के लिए लाइव स्ट्रीमिंग, आसान सोशल मीडिया साझाकरण, स्थान-आधारित समाचार वितरण, लेखों को सहेजने के लिए बुकमार्क करना और शक्तिशाली खोज कार्यक्षमता उपलब्ध होंगी।
इससे पहले सूचना और प्रसारण मंत्रालय में सचिव श्री संजय जाजू ने अपने संबोधन में पीबी-एसएचएबीडी के प्रयोग और नई वेबसाइट तथा ऐप शुरू करने के लिए पूरी प्रसार भारती टीम को बधाई दी। उन्होंने कहा कि पोर्टल काफी तालमेल बनाएगा और देश भर में सार्थक समाचार सामग्री के प्रसार में लाभदायक होगा।

लखनऊ। उत्तर प्रदेश की राजधानी लखनऊ के नगर निगम में भ्रष्टाचार चरम सीमा पर है। वर्तमान में लखनऊ नगर निगम का बजट 2800 करोड़ रूपये से अधिक है। यहाँ भ्रष्टाचार का बोलबाला है। वर्तमान नगर आयुक्त इन्द्रजीत सिंह की ईमानदारी पर कोई सन्देह नहीं कर सकता। वह 2015 बैच के आई. ए. एस.अधिकारी हैं और मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने विशेष रूप से उनको नगर निगम में पद स्थापित किये है। लेकिन उनके अधीनस्थ भारी भ्रष्टाचार में लिप्त हैं। विगत कुछ दिनों पूर्व में हुए नगर निगम सदन में नगर में कूड़ा उठाने वाली फर्म को लेकर सदन में सरोजनीनगर वार्ड द्वितीय के पार्षद रावत द्वारा नगर आयुक्त पर भ्रष्टाचार के आरोप लगाये गये थे। जिससे ईमानदार नगर आयुक्त असहज हो गये थे। लेकिन यह भी तथ्य रोचक है कि नगर आयुक्त इन्द्रजीत सिंह के ईमानदार होने का क्या फायदा कि उनके अधीनस्थ भारी भ्रष्टाचार में लिप्त हैं। यह सर्वविदित है नगर निगम के नाली इन्टरलाकिंग तथा रोड के ठेकों में गुणवत्ता के विपरीत 45 प्रतिशत तक कमीशन लिया जा रहा है। यह ठेकेदार स्वयं बयां करते हैं। कहीं-कहीं तो गलियों के निर्माण में पुरानी टाईल्स निकाल कर उसमें नई टाईल्स मिलाकर लगा दी जा रही है और भुगतान प्राप्त कर लिया जा रहा है। इसके अतिरिक्त संविदा पर कर्मचारियों को रखने वाले संविदा ठेकेदार संविदा कर्मियों का करोड़ों के प्राविडेन्ड फण्ड की धनराशि हजम कर जा रहे हैं। जबकि नगर निगम द्वारा संविदा कर्मियों के वेतन का 13 प्रतिशत नगर द्वारा तथा 10 प्रतिशत संबंधित संविदा कर्मचारी के वेतन से काटकर जमा कराने का प्राविधान है और कर्मचारी राज्य बीमा निदेशालय (ई.एस.आई.सी.) में भी 4.5 प्रतिशत धनराशि उसके वेतन से तथा नगर निगम द्वारा अपने अंश के साथ जमा कराने का प्राविधान है लेकिन यह सब नहीं हो रहा है और कर्मचारियों के साथ अन्याय हो रहा है। इससे कर्मचारियों और उनके परिवार के साथ घोर अन्याय हो रहा है। भ्रष्टाचारी संविदा ठेकेदार खूब फलफूल रहे हैं और ईमानदार नगर आयुक्त इस पर मौन हैं। उन्हें इस पर त्वरित कार्यवाही करना चाहिए।सूत्रों के अनुसार बताया जाता है कि नगर निगम लखनऊ के महापौर सुषमा खर्कवाल भारी भ्रष्टाचार की गंगा बहाये हुए हैं और भ्रष्टाचार के कीर्तिमान उन्होंने तोड़ दिये हैं। जिसको लेकर नगर आयुक्त इन्द्रजीत सिंह असहज रहते हैं और उनके भ्रष्टाचार के आगे नतमस्तक रहते हैं। बताया जाता है कि महापौर सुषमा खर्कवाल की निधि 35 करोड़ रूपये वार्षिक है जिसके द्वारा नगर में विकास कार्य के ठेके अनुमोदित किये जाते हैं। महापौर सुषमा खर्कवाल के भ्रष्टाचार का आलम यह है कि उनके द्वारा खुले आम 15 प्रतिशत कमीशन लेकर धड़ल्ले से नाली, इन्टरलांकिग तथा रोड निर्माण के कार्य ठेकेदारों को अनुमोदित किये जा रहे हैं। जबकि कार्य की गुणवत्ता से उनका कोई लेना-देना नहीं रहता है। इसके अतिरिक्त महापौर सुषमा खर्कवाल का नगर निगम के अन्य आर्थिक कार्यों में भी हस्तक्षेप रहता है। चूंकि नगर आयुक्त की चरित्र पंजिका में प्रविष्टि लिखने का अधिकार महापौर का होता है. इसलिए नगर आयुक्त उनसे भयभीत रहते हैं और चुपचाप बिना इन्क्वारी किये उनकी फाइलों का अनुमोदन कर देते हैं। यह कहना अतिश्योक्ति नहीं होगा कि नगर आयुक्त ने महापौर के आगे हथियार डाल दिये हैं। उनकी सारी ईमानदारी बेकार है और नगर निगम में चर्चा का विषय भी है। सूत्रों के अनुसार बताया जाता है कि नगर निगम, लखनऊ में कई वर्षों से अपने रसूख के बल पर जमे हुए भ्रष्टाचारी अपर नगर आयुक्त (पशुपालन), डा. अरविन्द राव को महापौर सुषमा खर्कवाल का पूरा संरक्षण है और वह निर्बाध गति से भ्रष्टाचार कर रहा है। सूत्रों के अनुसार नगर में घूमने वाले आवारा पशुओं को उसके अधीनस्थ कर्मियों द्वारा पकड़ा जाता है और आवारा पशुओं के लिये बने कान्हा उपवन में उनको नहीं भेजकर उनको कटने के लिये कसाईयों को बेच दिया जाता है। कई बार पशुपालकों द्वारा डा. अरविन्द राव पर पथराव भी किया गया और वह जान छुड़ाकर भाग खड़ा हुआ लेकिन बताया जाता है कि रसूख के बल पर वह आवारा पशुओं को कटवा रहा है और महापौर का उसे पूरा संरक्षण है। इसकी जाँच हो जाय तो निश्चित रूप से सारे तथ्य उजागर हो जायेंगे। कान्हा उपवन में रखे गये आवारा पशु भूखे तगाने दिखाई पड़ सकते हैं और आँसू बहाते मिल जायेंगे। कान्हा उ 3/5 बिना अनुमति के पत्रकारों के साथ ही साथ किसी का भी जाना वाजत है। बताया जाता है कि नगर निगम लखनऊ क्षेत्र में आवारा कुत्तों की भरमार है जो आये दिन जनमानस को काट लेते हैं और इसकी खबरें समाचार पत्रों में प्रकाशित होती रहती हैं जबकि इसके लिए प्रति वर्ष करोड़ रूपये की धनराशि कुत्तों की नसबन्दी हेतु आवंटित की जाती है। लेकिन खेदजनक है कि स्वयं सेवी संस्था (एन.जी.ओ.) को कुत्तों की नसबन्दी की धनराशि आवंटित की जाती है और प्रति वर्ष बंदरबांट कर ली जाती है और ईमानदार नगर आयुक्त द्वारा बिना जांच पड़ताल के उसका भुगतान कर दिया जाता है जबकि उनको इसकी गहनता से जांच करनी चाहिए तथा एन.जी.ओ. के बजाए पशुपालन विभाग को धनराशि आवंटित कर उनसे कुत्तों की नसबन्दी का कार्य कराया जाना चाहिए। इसके अतिरिक्त आर.आर. विभाग, प्रचार विभाग, कर विभाग, नगर निगम के सभी विभागों में भारी भ्रष्टाचार देखा जा सकता है जबकि सबसे रोचक तथ्य यह है कि नगर निगम, लखनऊ में कई पार्षद ऐसे हैं जो दूसरे दलों से भाजपा में आये हैं और पार्षद हैं तथा अरबो रूपये की सम्पत्ति के मालिक हैं। मुम्बई से लेकर श्रीलंका तक उनका नगर निगम के भ्रष्टाचार से अर्जित की हुई धनराशि उन्होंने विनियोजित कर रखी है और उनका भारतीय जनता पार्टी की किसी भी बैठकों से कोई लेना-देना नहीं रहता है तथा विगत 2022 के विधानसभा चुनाव में प्रचार-प्रसार नहीं करने के कारण भाजपा का मध्य क्षेत्र का विधानसभा प्रत्याशी चुनाव हार गया और सपा का प्रत्याशी चुनाव जीत गया जिससे भाजपा की बहुत किरकिरी हुई। ऐसे पार्षदों को सिर्फ ठेके लेने में और उसके प्रबन्धन में ही दिमाग रहता है। इससे भाजपा कार्यकर्ताओं में काफी रोष रहता है। ऐसे पार्षदों की आय से अधिक सम्पत्ति की जाँच माननीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह को संज्ञान लेकर ई.डी.व सी. बी.आई.से जाँच कराना चाहिए तभी भ्रष्टाचार उजागर होगा।नगर निगम, लखनऊ में व्याप्त भ्रष्टाचार का संज्ञान नगर विकास मंत्री अरविन्द कुमार शर्मा तथा प्रमुख सचिव अमृत अभिजात को लेना चाहिए तभी मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ की भ्रष्टाचार के प्रति जीरो टॉलरेन्स की नीति प्रभावी होगी।

लखनऊ: उत्तर प्रदेश की राजधानी लखनऊ में नोटरियों द्वारा अवैध धन लेकर बिना अपने रजिस्टर में अंकित कर तथा सम्बन्धित पक्ष से हस्ताक्षर कराये बिना शपथ-पत्र धड़ल्ले से जारी किये जा रहे है। सूत्रों के अनुसार बताया जाता है कि इसका सर्वाधिक उपयोग सरकारी योजनाओं में हो रहा है। विशेष तौर पर प्रधानमंत्री आवास योजना तथा शहरी क्षेत्रों में मकान बनाने हेतु प्रधानमंत्री द्वारा दिये जाने वाले ढाई लाख का अनुदान जो जिला परियोजना अधिकारी (डूडा) की संस्तुति पर होता है। इन नोटरीयों द्वारा फर्जी शपथ-पत्र जारी किये जा रहे है। यह शपथ-पत्र 10/- रूपये के स्टाॅम्प पेपर या 100/- रूपये के स्टाॅम्प पर किरायेदारी इकरारनामा जिस पर नोटरी का प्रमाणित हस्ताक्षर व मोहर रहती है जबकि उभय पक्षों का कोई हस्ताक्षर नहीं रहता है। इस प्रकार यह गोरख धंधा फल-फूल रहा है। इसके अतिरिक्त जी.एस.टी. रजिस्ट्रेशन में भी नोटरियों द्वारा किरायेदारी अनुबन्ध सरकारी भवनों पर नोटरी द्वारा अभिप्रमाणित कर जारी कर दिये जा रहे है। सरकार द्वारा दो तरह के नोटरी बनाये जाते है-एक प्रदेश सरकार की अनुशंसा पर राज्य नोटरी बनाये जाते है। दूसरा केन्द्र सरकार द्वारा केन्द्र सरकार की अनुशंसा पर बनाये जाते है। नोटरी का महत्व मा. न्यायालयों में भी बहुत है, जबकि उ.प्र. में ई-स्टाॅम्प की व्यवस्था लागू है और इसके लिए स्टाॅक होल्र्डिग काॅरर्पोरेशन आॅफ इण्डिया लि., मुम्बई को अधिकृत किया गया है, जिसके चलते उ.प्र. सरकार के स्टाॅम्प राजस्व मंे भी भारी वृद्धि हुई है लेकिन अभी भी 10/- व 100/- रूपये के मैनुअल स्टाॅम्प टेªजरी से बेचे जा रहे है, जिसका नाजायज उपयोग नोटरी लोगो द्वारा किया जा रहा है। डूडा की योजनाओं में तो उनका बहुत उपयोग हो रहा है। प्रधानमंत्री आवास हेतु जारी होने वाली योजनाओं में नगर निगम लखनऊ के नगर आयुक्त इन्द्रजीत सिंह को तथा उपाध्यक्ष लखनऊ विकास प्राधिकरण इन्द्रमणि त्रिपाठी को तथा प्रभारी जिला परियोजना अधिकारी (डूडा) लखनऊ सिद्धार्थ कुमार को ऐसे मैनुअल जमा किये गये शपथ-पत्रों के स्टाॅम्प की गहनता से जाॅच कराना चाहिए, जिसमें अधिकांशतः फर्जीवाड़ा ही मिलेगा क्योकि जो सही लोग है, वह ई-स्टाॅम्प के माध्यम से ही शपथ-पत्र बनवाते है। निश्चित रूप से इसमें बड़ा फर्जीवाड़ा सामने आयेगा और बहुत से नोटरियों का इसमें फॅसना सुनिश्चित है।
उ.प्र. सरकार को चाहिए कि जब उ.प्र.में सभी प्रकार के ई-स्टाॅम्प की व्यवस्था लागू है तो इस फर्जीवाड़े को रोकने के लिए मैनुअल स्टाॅम्प की बिक्री ट्रेजरी से बंद कर देनी चाहिए।

लखनऊ: उत्तर प्रदेश की योगी सरकार भ्रष्टाचार के प्रति जीरो टालरेंस की नीति पर कायम है और भ्रष्टाचार के प्रति योगी आदित्यनाथ का कठोर रवैया भी रहता है लेकिन कतिपय भ्रष्ट अधिकारी योगी आदित्यनाथ की जीरों टालरेंस की नीति को ठेंगा दिखा रहे है और भ्रष्टाचार से बाज नहीं आ रहे है तथा भारी लूट खसोट में लिप्त है तथा वह भ्रष्टाचार के आकंठ में डूबे हुये है। इनके ऊपर कार्यवाही होनी चाहिए। ऐसे ही उ.प्र. सरकार के भ्रष्ट अधिकारी हैं निदेशक, सूचना एवं जनसम्पर्क विभाग शिशिर सिंह, जो कई वर्षो से इस पद पर बने हुये है और भारी भ्रष्टाचार में डूबे हुुये है। सूचना एवं जनसम्पर्क विभाग के बजट से ही छोटे बड़े व मझले समाचार पत्रों को डी.ए.वी.पी. रेट पर तथा इलेक्ट्रानिक चैनलों को भी उ.प्र. सरकार की योजनाओं के करोड़ो के विज्ञापन व टेण्डर के विज्ञापन जारी किये जाते है। सूत्रों के अनुसार बताया जाता है कि भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक शिशिर सिंह, विज्ञापन एजेन्सियों से जारी होने वाले विज्ञापनों में धड़ल्ले से एजेन्सियों से उनके 15 प्रतिशत कमीशन में से 10प्रतिशत ले लेता है, यह सिलसिला बदसतूर जारी है। इसके अतिरिक्त सूचना विभाग द्वारा लगायी जाने वाली इलेक्ट्रानिक होल्डिंग व सामान्य होल्डिंग के ठेकेदारों से लंबी रिश्वत् ली जाती है क्योकि उ.प्र. देश का सबसे बड़ा राज्य है और सूचना विभाग उ.प्र. सरकार की योजनाओं का प्रचार-प्रसार पूरे प्रदेश में इन्हीं के द्वारा करता है। इसीलिए इस विभाग का करोड़ो रूपये का बजट होता है। इलेक्ट्रानिक होल्डिंग व सामान्य होल्डिंग में बड़ा घोटाला इस भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक शिशिर सिंह द्वारा किया जाता है। उदाहारणार्थ यदि किसी फर्म को 300 होल्डिंग का आर्डर दिया जाता है तो लगायी सिर्फ मुख्य जगहों पर 100 ही जाती है और बिलिंग पूरे की होती है और उसकी क्वालिटी भी निम्न स्तर की होती है। जबकि ब्लैक बैंक किस्म के फ्लैक्स लगाये जाने चाहिए और इलेक्ट्रानिक होल्डिंग कितने समय चल रही है, उनका क्या तय समय है। यह सब इसके भ्रष्ट अधिनस्थों द्वारा किये जाने के कारण उसकी कोई पकड़ नहीं हो पाती है। आज सोशल मीडिया का युग है। इस दौर में इलेक्ट्रानिक चैनलों को डाॅक्यूमेन्टरी फिल्म चलाने व विज्ञापन जारी किये जाते है, जो इलेक्ट्रानिक चैनल मानक नहीं पूरा करते है, उनको भी भारी मात्रा मंे विज्ञापन जारी किया जाता है। इस कृत्य को उसका चहेता सूचनाकर्मी राजीव सिंह करता है, जो वरिष्ठ पत्रकारों की शिकायत पर विगत दिनों समाचार पत्रों के विज्ञापन के प्रभार से ईमानदार प्रमुख सचिव संजय प्रसाद (सूचना) के निर्देश पर हटाया जा चुका है लेकिन भ्रष्ट निदेशक शिशिर सिंह का चहेता होने के कारण वह इस कार्य को कर रहा है। सूत्रों के अनुसार बताया जाता है कि मानक पूरा नहीं करने वाले चैनलों को जारी होने वाले विज्ञापनों से 50 प्रतिशत तक कमीशन वसूल कर राजीव सिंह द्वारा भ्रष्ट निदेशक को पहुॅचाया जाता है। इसके अतिरिक्त दैनिक समाचार पत्रों, पत्रिकाओं, मैगजीन को जारी होने वाले विज्ञापनों में विज्ञापन एजेन्सी को मिलने वाले 15 प्रतिशत कमीशन में से 10 प्रतिशत कमीशन लिया जाता है, जिसके लिए उनका पी.ए. परशुराम मौर्या तथा प्रशासनिक अधिकारी प्रमोद कुमार व अन्य सूचनाकर्मी संदीप ओझा विशेष रूप से उसको भ्रष्टाचारी कृत्य में सहयोगी रहते है। किसी भी प्रकार की पत्रिकाओं, जिनका डी.ए.वी.पी. रेट नहीं है, उनको भी भारी मात्रा में विज्ञापन लेन-देन करके जारी किये जाते है। उनको योगी आदित्यनाथ की उपलब्धियों के समाचार से कोई लेना-देना नहीं रहता है। बताया जाता है कि कई ऐसे न्यूज चैनल जो सिर्फ सोशल मीडिया प्लेटफार्म पर है, उनको कई करोड़ के विज्ञापनों का भुगतान शपथ-पत्र के आधार पर भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक शिशिर सिंह द्वारा रिश्वत लेकर किया गया है, जिसकी जाॅच करा ली जाये तो यह मामला स्पष्ट हो जायेगा। सूत्रों के अनुसार बताया जाता है कि भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक शिशिर सिंह घूस की रकम ठोस सोने के रूप में लेता है। भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक शिशिर सिंह की बदमीजाजी का यह आलम है कि वह छोटे व मझले समाचार पत्रों के रिपोर्टरों व महिला पत्रकारोंlpp से बदसलूकी से बात करता है, जिससे उ.प्र.सरकार की बहुत किरकिरी हो रही है जबकि कोरोना काल में उ.प्र. सरकार की बहुत किरकिरी समाचार पत्रों में हुई थी। यह भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक उसको मैनेज नहीं कर सका था।
सूत्रों के अनुसार बताया जाता है कि भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक शिशिर सिंह द्वारा भ्रष्टाचार से अर्जित रकम से लखनऊ के मोहनलालगंज में अपने परिजनों के नाम से 200 बीघे जमीन की खरीदी जा चुकी है, जिस पर वह विश्वविद्यालय का निर्माण कराना चाहता है। इसके अतिरिक्त लखनऊ से सटे उन्नाव जनपद में भी उसने सैकड़ों बीघे जमीन खरीद रखी है, जिसकी कीमत करोड़ो रूपये में है। इसके अलावा चर्चाओं के अनुसार उसने देश की राजधानी दिल्ली में होटल तथा देश के आर्थिक राजधानी मुम्बई में होटल खरीद रखा है, जो उसके परिजनों के नाम से है। इस भ्रष्ट सूचना निदेशक शिशिर सिंह की आय से अधिक सम्पत्ति की जाॅच देश के गृह मंत्री अमित शाह को इसका संज्ञान लेते हुये प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ई.डी.) तथा सी.बी.आई. (विजिलेंस शाखा) द्वारा नोटिस जारी कर गहनता से जाॅच करानी चाहिए, जिसमें उसके करोड़ो के भ्रष्टाचार का खुलासा होना सुनिश्चित है। भारत सरकार के कार्मिक मंत्रालय डी.ओ.पी.टी. को भी इसका संज्ञान लेना चाहिए। वैसे भी हमारे देश के यशस्वी प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की स्पष्ट नीति है कि भ्रष्टाचारी कोई भी हो, उसे छोड़ा नहीं जायेगा, उसकी पहुॅच चाहे कितनी भी हो।

The US Stock Market closing on Wednesday estimated Facebook worth USD 630 billion. One day later, it tumbled to USD 510 billion. Roughly USD 120 billion loss in market cap tops the list of biggest one-day routs in recent stock market history — and by a very wide, USD 30-billion margin.

Facebook on Thursday posted the largest one-day loss in market value by any company in US stock market history after releasing its quarterly report.

According to Reuters, at least 16 brokerages cut their price targets on Facebook after Chief Financial Officer David Wehner startled an otherwise routine call with analysts by saying the company faced a multi-year squeeze on its business margins.

That “bombshell,” as one analyst termed it, played into concerns on Wall Street that Facebook’s model could be under threat after a year dominated by efforts to head off concerns over privacy and its role in global news flow.

No company in the history of the US stock market has ever lost USD 100 billion in market value in just one day, but two came close.

On 22 September, 2000, Intel lost USD 90.74 billion in market value as the dot-com bubble burst. Earlier that year, Microsoft shed USD 80 billion from its market cap in one day.

Other companies that have experienced similar one-day losses in dollar amount include Apple in 2013, when it was trimmed by USD 59.6 billion, and Exxon Mobil in 2008, when it lost USD 52.5 billion.

Facebook’s margin fell to 44 percent in the second quarter from 47 percent a year ago as it spent heavily on security and initiatives to convince users the company was protecting their privacy.

The company also said revenue growth from emerging markets and the company’s Instagram app, which has been less affected by privacy concerns, would not be enough to repair the damage.

The impact on the rest of the FAANG group of high-flying tech stocks was marginal.

Paris, France:The longest “blood moon” eclipse of this century will coincide with Mars’ closest approach in 15 years, on Friday to offer skygazers a thrilling astronomical double bill.

Viewers will require no protective eye gear to observe the spectacle — unlike when watching solar eclipse.

“All you have to do is… go outside!” the Royal Astronomical Society in London advises.

For about half the world, the moon will be partly or fully in Earth’s shadow from 1714 to 2328 GMT — six hours and 14 minutes in all.

The period of complete eclipse — known as “totality”, when the moon appears darkest — will last from 1930 to 2113 GMT.

“In totality the eclipse will last for 103 minutes, making it the longest eclipse of the 21st century.” the Royal Astronomical Society said.

At the same time, Mars will hover near the moon in the night sky, easily visible with the naked eye.

Our neighbouring planet will appear unusually large and bright, a mere 57.7 million kilometres (35.9 million miles) from Earth on its elliptical orbit around the sun.

“We have a rare and interesting conjunction of phenomena,” Pascal Descamps, an astronomer with the Paris Observatory, told reporters.

“We should have a coppery red tint on the moon with Mars the ‘Red Planet’ just next to it, very bright and with a slight orange hue itself.”

Amateur astronomers in the southern hemisphere will be best-placed to enjoy the spectacle, especially those in southern Africa, Australia, India and Madagascar, though it will also be partly visible in Europe and South America.

“If you want a close-up view of the moon as it turns red, a pair of binoculars is helpful,” Royal Astronomical Society said.

A total lunar eclipse happens when Earth takes position in a straight line between the moon and sun, blocking out the direct sunlight that normally makes our satellite glow whitish-yellow.

The moon travels to a similar position every month, but the tilt of its orbit means it normally passes above or below the Earth’s shadow — so most months we have a full moon without an eclipse.

When the three celestial bodies are perfectly lined up, however, the Earth’s atmosphere scatters blue light from the sun while refracting or bending red light onto the moon, usually giving it a rosy blush.

This is what gives the phenomenon the name “blood moon”, though Mark Bailey of the Armagh Observatory in Northern Ireland said the colour can vary greatly.

It depends partly on “how cloudy or transparent those parts of the Earth’s atmosphere are which enable sunlight to reach the moon”, he told AFP.

“During a very dark eclipse the moon may be almost invisible.

“Less dark eclipses may show the moon as dark grey or brown… as rust-coloured, brick-red, or, if very bright, copper-red or orange.”

The long duration of this eclipse is partly due to the fact that the moon will make a near-central passage through Earth’s umbra — the darkest, most central part of the shadow.

Our constant companion will also be at the farthest point on its orbit from Earth, making its movement across the sky slower from our perspective, thus spending longer in the dark.

NASA, meanwhile, has called out social media hoaxers claiming that Mars will appear as big as the moon during the eclipse.

“If that were true, we’d be in big trouble given the gravitational pulls on Earth, Mars, and our moon!” the NASA website states.

Mars will more likely appear as a very bright star.

“All eclipses are spectacular,” the Royal Astronomical Society’s Robert Massey said.

“In the middle of a lunar eclipse it can look as if a red planet has taken up residence near the Earth — they are both eerie and beautiful and I’ll certainly be looking out for it!”

Tokyo, Japan: Japanese astronaut Norishige Kanai came back to earth last month but is still dreaming of space, especially after the discovery of an underground lake brought mankind one step closer to unravelling the mystery of life on Mars.

“I was so excited about the news,” the 41-year-old doctor told AFP in an interview on Friday, calling it “a major discovery that inspires dreams”.

International astronomers announced Wednesday they had detected the largest body of liquid water ever found on the Red Planet, a breakthrough that may hold clues to whether life has ever formed on Mars — or even exists today.

Kanai, who spent 168 days on the International Space Station, is firmly convinced that we’re not alone in the universe and there is life out there.

“I believe there is,” he said. “In the vast universe, anything could be possible.”

“I have high hopes that finding extraterrestrial life forms could open a new page in learning.”

The soft-spoken spaceman, nicknamed “Nemo” for his background as a diving medical officer in Japan’s Maritime Self-Defense Force, blasted into space for the first time in December.

– Growing pains –
Following in the footsteps of other media-savvy astronauts, Kanai tweeted about his stay at the space station in Japanese.

But his social media foray came with some growing pains: he was forced to apologise and issue a correction after mistakenly claiming he had grown by nine centimetres just weeks after he arrived.

When a colleague suggested the growth was unlikely, despite the fact that astronauts’ spines do extend in the zero-gravity environment of space, Norishige had himself remeasured.

It turned out a mix-up over centimetres and inches was to blame, and he said Friday that he had in fact grown by just two to three centimetres during his stay.

He has been shrinking since he arrived back on Earth on June 3, but is still one centimetre taller, he said.

“It’s interesting to see how long it will take to get back to my original height.”

Kanai, whose Twitter profile depicts him in cartoon form with a broad grin, concedes he wasn’t always the likeliest candidate to join Japan’s space agency JAXA, though he is now the agency’s youngest astronaut.

He was a “reserved, cautious” boy, rather than adventurous.

“I was a granny’s boy,” he said. “When she was sewing, we did it together. I had a rather ‘girlie’ childhood.”

But one of the skills he picked up as a child turned out to have a surprising application during the strict JAXA screening process.

In the final selection stage, 10 candidates spend a week in a capsule performing various tasks including folding paper cranes, which the agency says tests patience and steadiness under stress.

Luckily Kanai was a dab hand at origami from his childhood.

– Space for all –
“I don’t know if it gave me an advantage… but I knew how to do it. I’m dexterous and like to do repetitive small tasks. That task was easy for me,” he said.

Even as he spoke, he deftly folded a piece of origami paper into a crane, without so much as leaning on a table for support.

He so enjoyed making small cranes that he folded more than 100 of them in the test capsule.

While Kanai now belongs to an elite group of astronaut alumni, he is eager to see space become more accessible.

“I think space is not only for astronauts and space-related corporations but is for everyone,” he said.

“I welcome the idea of ‘enjoyable’ space or interesting ideas of private companies to use space.”

He doesn’t yet know if he’ll be chosen for new missions, and admits that he had mixed emotions as he headed back to Earth last month.

“I felt sorry that it was ending. But I was also happy that I was finally going back to Japan, because six months is a long time.

“I had complex, half-happy, half-sad feelings.”​

The second quarter of 2018 has not been the best ever for Facebook. But that was perhaps expected, in the aftermath of the data privacy scandal and the constant debate about the company’s moderation policies for content posted on the social network. The data released by Facebook in the Q2 2018 earnings call indicates that even though revenue increased 42 percent to $13.2 billion, it was still lesser than the Wall Street estimates of $13.3 billion. This is the first time in 3 years that Facebook did not match or exceed the market expectations in a quarter.

Make no doubt, a 42 percent growth figure is still extremely robust, and that is coupled with an 11 percent year-over-year growth in monthly and daily active users. At present, Facebook has 1.47 billion daily active users and 2.23 billion monthly active users. Mobile advertising revenue is also up, and now represents 91% of advertising revenue for the second quarter of 2018, which is up from approximately 87% of advertising revenue in the second quarter of 2017.

However, even these impressive numbers are not enough for Facebook. In the aftermath of the earnings call, the company’s shared slid by more than 20 percent, and that means CEO Mark Zuckerberg lost as much as $16.8 billion after the late trading.

Prior to the Q2 2018 earnings call, Facebook seemed to have been largely unaffected in its ability to make money and retain subscribers, even after the data privacy scandal involving Cambridge Analytica, the subsequent changes to the News Feed after user backlash and also the controversy surrounding the social network’s ability to moderate content such as fake news and hate speech. Facebook also confirmed that Facebook lost as many as 1 million accounts in Europe, due to compliance with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) regulations.

MUMBAI – More than 20 Indian lenders on Monday signed a pact aimed at faster resolution of bad loans, officials said, while more could join by the end of the week in what is the latest bid to cut record levels of soured assets in Asia’s third-biggest economy.

A government-appointed panel this month proposed the so-called inter-creditor agreement among other measures after criticism that at times smaller lenders in a lending consortium were creating roadblocks for speedier resolution.

The agreement gives a bigger say to the lead lender in a consortium and allows a resolution plan to be approved if 66 percent of the banks in the group agree to it. Dissenting lenders have the option to sell their stressed loans to a company at a discount, or buy out loans to that entity from all other lenders at a premium.

“One of the major issues was consensus among lending banks on what should have been a common resolution plan.”

Top lender State Bank of India was among banks which signed the agreement.

India’s banks had 12.5 percent of their total loans categorised as non-performing or restructured at the end of March, according to central bank data.

As the competition gets fierce in the Indian smartphone market, Chinese player Vivo is geared up to launch devices across price points in the next six months, a top company executive said on Tuesday. According to Nipun Marya, Head of Marketing Strategy, Vivo India, the company is focusing on multi-dimensional strategies to fend off growing competition, especially in the offline segment. “We will offer products in multiple price points… whether it is the Rs 10,000 price bracket, the Rs 20,000-Rs 30,000 segment or the premium segment (Rs 30,000 and above),” Marya told IANS in an interview.

Vivo India had an overall share of 60.7 percent (by volume) in the Rs 20,000-Rs 25,000 segment (for the month of April) and 53 percent share in the Rs 20,000-Rs 30,000 price segment, according to German research firm GfK, which tracks sales to end consumers. The company, which is set to launch a nearly bezel-less smartphone “NEX S” in India on July 19, said it is also making rapid strides in innovation and the under-display fingerprint scanner was one such step. “Vivo X21” is the first smartphone with an in-display fingerprint scanner that recently arrived in India.

The upcoming “NEX S” smartphone features an all-glass design with 90 per cent of screen-to-body ratio and unlike a majority of smartphone makers, Vivo has ditched the “notch” in the device. Another USP of the device, according to Vivo, is the placement of the earpiece speaker — also under the display. “The phone uses a new technology called ‘screen soundcasting’, that turns a screen into audio output,” Marya told reporters.

“We have more India-focused R&D innovations in the pipeline and want to become a full-range player in the country,” he added. The company last month launched Vivo Y83 under its Y series of product portfolio. Priced at Rs 14,990, the device sports “FullView” Display 2.0 and houses 4GB RAM and 32GB ROM (expandable up to 256GB), 13MP rear camera and 3260mAh battery. Focused on strengthening its offline presence, Vivo said handing over the right product to end users is what matters the most.

The smartphone player already has brand ambassadors stationed at its retail and exclusive stores across the country, who are well equipped to handle queries related to both the software and the product as well as users’ complaints. “India is a vast country and you have to have proper reach. We made that by increasing the number of our retail outlets. We expanded our distribution network with over 70,000 Vivo retail stores and more than 250 Vivo exclusive stores,” Marya informed.

The company is planning to do away with “online” only devices and said all its upcoming smartphones would be available both online and at brick-and-mortar stores. “We have a manufacturing facility in Greater Noida where all smartphones being sold in India are made,” Marya noted.

Facebook Inc’s WhatsApp messaging platform on Tuesday published advertisements in key Indian newspapers to tackle the spread of misinformation, its first such effort to combat a flurry of fake messages that prompted mob lynchings. Beatings and deaths triggered by false incendiary messages in India, WhatsApp’s biggest market with more than 200 million users, caused a public relations nightmare, sparking calls from authorities for immediate action.

“Together we can fight false information,” read full-page advertisements in some top English language-newspapers, part of a series that will also feature in regional-language dailies. It urged users to check information before sharing it and cautioned them about the spread of fake news.

“We are starting an education campaign in India on how to spot fake news and rumours,” a WhatsApp spokesman said in a statement.

“Our first step is placing newspaper advertisements in English and Hindi and several other languages. We will build on these efforts.”

During the week, it aims to publish similar advertisements in regional dailies across India, from the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Rajasthan in the west to the most populous state of Uttar Pradesh in the north, it added.

WhatsApp has previously said it is tweaking features and giving users controls in its effort to rein in false messages. It is also testing the labelling of messages to show users when a message received is just a forward, rather than one created by the sender.

According to calculations by Bloomberg, Zuckerberg now trails only Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Microsoft Corp co-founder Bill Gates.

The current standings mark the first time the world’s three richest people all made their fortunes in the tech world. Zuckerberg, 34, is now worth $81.6 billion, about $373 million more than Buffett, Bloomberg reported.

According to a Fortune report, investors are loving Facebook more than ever. Investors are also happy at the news that Facebook has grabbed its biggest sports streaming deal yet with the Premier League.

The Times reported that Facebook has won exclusive rights to show all 380 live matches in parts of Asia — Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos — from 2019 until 2022, in a deal worth about $264 million.

Since going public in 2012, Facebook has seen its stock rise more than 400 per cent.

In the latest privacy goof-up, Facebook admitted that over 800,000 users were affected by a bug on its platform and Messenger that unblocked some people the users had blocked.

The bug was active between May 29 and June 5 — and while someone who was unblocked could not see content shared with friends, they could have seen things posted to a wider audience, said Facebook.

Facebook has already been grappling with privacy issues like the Cambridge Analytica data scandal involving 87 million users and another bug that changed 14 million users’ privacy setting defaults to public.

Nagpur: The Maharashtra Legislative Assembly was adjourned for an hour as electricity supply had to be turned off after the switching centre that provides power to Vidhan Bhavan premises was flooded following rains in the city.

The city witnessed heavy rains from Thursday night, which resulted in water logging at several places. Since the switching centre which supplies power to Vidhan Bhavan was flooded, the power supply had to be shut down for safety purposes.

As soon as the House assembled for the day at 10 am, Speaker Haribhau Bagde announced that power had to be turned off due to closure of the switching centre. It was adjourned till 11 am.

Shiv Sena, an ally of the ruling BJP, was quick to criticise the government. “Had this happened in Mumbai, there would have been a barrage of criticism against the Sena-run Mumbai civic body. Everybody would have demanded an inquiry against the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC),” Shiv Sena group leader in the house, Sunil Prabhu, told reporters.

“Nagpur is the second capital of the state and an important city. Nagpur Municipal Corporation is run by the BJP. It should have provided basic infrastructure to ensure rains don’t obstruct the proceedings of the legislature session,” he added.

Prabhu said the area whereall ministerial bungalows and residential quarters of legislators are located is also flooded.

NCP MLA and former minister Bhaskar Jadhav said, “This government is fully exposed. It decided that the monsoon session will be held in Nagpur. Shouldn’t it make all the arrangements to put the disaster management systems in place.”

Energy Minister Chandrashekar Bawankule said it was for the first time that rains had affected the legislature proceedings in such a manner. “This happened because maybe the drainage was not cleaned,” he said.”The switching centre had to be closed to avoid any technical problem which would have led to hazardous situation.

Water level is receding and we hope the situation will be normalised,” he said. The minister said there was power supply in the rest of the city. “We were not sure if generators can take the entire load of Vidhan Bhavan premises,” he said.

A day after the Supreme Court ruling on the power and jurisdictional dispute in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday sought Lieutenant Governor (LG) Anil Baijal’s support and guidance in implementing the apex court order in its letter and spirit for the development of the city.

Apprising Mr Baijal of the SC’s judgment Wednesday defining the powers of Council of Ministers (CoM) and Centre/LG in case of governance of Delhi, Mr Kejriwal in his letter said, ‘It is a landmark judgment as it brings clarity on distribution of powers. Now, all stakeholders need to work towards implementing the SC order in its letter and spirit.”

The Chief Minister also sought support and guidance in implementing it and working for the development of Delhi.

Citing two specific issues adjudged by the apex court that LG’s concurrence would not be required in any matter and Centre has exclusive executive power with respect to NCT of Delhi relating to the three matters while in other matters it is to be exercised by the Delhi Government, Mr Kejriwal said,”Central Government/LG have executive powers on three subjects and the other lie with COM. Executive power related to ‘services’ lie with COM.”

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister also sought time to meet the LG to seek his support and cooperation in the implementation of the SC order.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday ruled that the Lieutenant Governor cannot act independently and obstruct policy decisions of AAP government in the national capital.

Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has kept his election promise and waived off farm loans of Rs 34,000 crore in the maiden budget of the Congress-JD(S) coalition.

Kumaraswamy, who also holds the finance portfolio, said in his budget speech that he had decided to write off defaulted crop loans of farmers made up to December 31 last year in the first stage.

“Apart from this major announcement, to help farmers who repaid the loan within time, as encouragement to the non-defaulting farmers, I have decided to credit the repaid loan amount or Rs 25,000, whichever is less, to each of the farmers account,” he said.

Explaining what made him limit the loan waiver amount to Rs 2 lakh, Kumaraswamy said, “Larger holding farmers have loans of Rs 40 lakh. It is not right to waiver higher value crop loan. So I have decided to limit the loan amount to Rs 2 lakh. Total benefit to farmers form all this will be Rs 34,000 crore.”

But the families of government officials and officials of cooperative sector who own farm lands are not eligible for this waiver. Farmers who have paid Income Tax for the last three years are also not eligible.

During his poll campaign, Kumaraswamy had promised to waive off all farm loans if the JD(S) was voted to power. After he formed the coalition government with the Congress in last May the loan waiver had become a major bone of contention between him and the Congress.

Fearing that the loan waiver credit would go to the minor party which leads the government, former CM Siddaramaiah had openly opposed it. After several rounds of talks and a JD(S)-Congress coordination committee meeting. the Congress had agreed to loan waiver.

The opposition BJP which had also promised loan waiver and demanded that Kumaraswamy walk the talk by writing off farm loans immediately.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi today reconstituted the North East Co-ordination Congress Committee (NECCC) with former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as its patron and former Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma as its chairman.

The NECCC will coordinate the activities of PCCs in North East to strengthen Congress party in the region, said a statement from AICC general secretary Ashok Gehlot.

All Congress chief ministers and former chief ministers of north eastern states will be advisers to the panel, while all PCC presidents, CLP leaders and Congress MPs and ex-MPs from all north eastern states will be its members.

Gehlot said the AICC general secretary and incharge of north eastern states along with attached secretaries will be special invitees to the North East Coordination Congress Committee.

The role of the Committee has become more relevant in the wake of Congress losing state after state in the north east to the BJP or its allies.

New Delhi: In a strong indictment of both the Centre and the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, the Supreme Court on Wednesday restored some of the powers of the elected Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of Delhi and cautioned the L-G to not play an “obstructionist” role.

The SC said the Centre could not “usurp” the powers of the state and the “will of the people” could not lose its purpose. Over the last three years, the AAP government has claimed that the LG’s office has blocked several of its key schemes. News18 brings you a list of schemes that the AAP government may push for now that the “concurrence” of the L-G is not required.

Doorstep Delivery of Ration

The AAP government has claimed that while there are 20 lakh targeted beneficiaries of the Public Distribution System (PDS), widespread corruption in the system prevents from adequate rations reaching those who need it. To solve this problem, the Arvind Kejriwal cabinet had approved of a ‘Doostep delivery of rations’ scheme. In March this year, the Delhi Government had sent the file to the L-G for approval. However, the L-G has not given his approval yet. During his 9-day sit-in at the L-G’s residence last month, Kejriwal had said that getting the doorstep delivery of rations cleared was one of his main objectives.

Mukhyantri Tirath Yatra Yojana

The Delhi government had marked four major pilgrimage spots across North India. These are Badrinath, Kedarnath, Mathura and Haridwar. Delhi government said it was ready to bear the cost of the pilgrimage for senior citizens. The government is also planning to arrange for buses that will depart for these four destinations. Under the plan, senior citizens will also be provided amenities and services for the journey. This was sent for the L-G’s approval in February and is still pending.

Construction of 94 Polyclinics

The Delhi cabinet on Tuesday approved the Health Department proposal for remodelling of 94 Delhi government dispensaries into Polyclinics in different areas of the national capital at the cost of Rs 168 crore. The aim of the project is to reorganise health care facilities by remodelling the dispensaries into polyclinics, which will be attached to various Delhi government hospitals. The polyclinics will act as satellite centres for outdoor specialised medical treatment centres of these hospitals. Medical superintendants of hospitals to which the polyclinics will be attached will be looking after these polyclinics. This is the next tier of Delhi Government’s Mohalla Clinics. New six-lane flyover in Seelampur

During Tuesday’s cabinet meeting, the AAP Government also approved the Public Works Department (PWD) proposal for expenditure sanction of Rs 303 crore for the construction of six lane flyover at Shastri Park Intersection and two lane flyover at Seelampur. The project will lead to a signal free corridor from UP border to ISBT and will help in getting rid of the massive traffic jams at Shastri Park intersection.

Investigation into corruption in LNJP and GTB Hospitals

Delhi Government had launched an investigation into alleged corruption by a firm hired in 2014 by the L-G for Housekeeping in LNJP and GTB Hospitals. In September 2017, AAP had requested the L-G to demand a CBI probe into the case. The L-G did not respond to the request.

Rs 1 crore Ex-Gratia to kin of soldiers who died on duty

Delhi Government decided that any armed personnel, if he/she dies on duty in operations, calamities and disaster relief, and is a resident of Delhi, should be awarded Rs 1 crore posthumously. This file was sent to the L-G in September 2016. The file was not approved.

Reconstitution of Delhi Waqf Board

The Delhi Waqf Board was dissolved in October 2016 and has led to several difficulties in management. According to Delhi Government, 991 Waqf Board properties have been illegally occupied. It was sent to the L-G in November 2017 and has not been approved.

Request for officers in the Directorate of Education

In December 2017, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia had requested the L-G to depute one IAS officer in each of Delhi’s 13 Education Districts. The L-G did not respond.

In the battle between the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party and Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, the Supreme Court on Wednesday gave more power to the elected government in Delhi and limited the role of the L-G. “The Lieutenant Governor can’t act in a mechanical manner and refer all decisions of the council of ministers to the President.

The L-G’s role can’t be obstructionist, he must work together with the council of ministers and respect their decisions,” Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra said while reading out the verdict of the five-judge Constitutional bench. In addition to the CJI, the bench comprised Justices AK Sikri, AM Khanwilkar, DY Chandrachud and Ashok Bhushan.

New Delhi: In what may be the first confirmation of a front of rebel PDP MLAs emerging in Jammu and Kashmir to support the BJP, senior party leader and former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta told News18 that “dissatisfied MLAs” from various parties are likely to come together in the coming days.

“In the coming days, I see dissatisfied MLAs not just from PDP, but also from Congress and National Conference, are likely to join forces and form a new front,” Gupta said.

Gupta’s statements come after speculation that Sajjad Lone, with whom BJP general secretary and party in-charge of J&K Ram Madhav met on June 27, was to head such a front.

Reacting to questions on PDP members like Imran Raza Ansari and Abid Ansari, who have spoken out against Mehbooba Mufti, were being broken away by the BJP, Gupta said the MLAs were dissatisfied with their party leadership and could come together to form a new front.

Five PDP MLAs have spoken out against their party leadership since Sunday, blaming Mehbooba Mufti for nepotism and claiming to feel “suffocated” under her leadership.

A PD leader, however, said the party is not mulling any immediate action. “We are monitoring the statements and situation. Those who want to leave the party are welcome to do so,” the senior leader said on condition of anonymity.

News18 reported on Monday that the BJP was looking to form the government in J&K and a big announcement was likely to be made after the conclusion of Amarnath Yatra.

A chain of events has been unfolding in the state since June 19 when the BJP pulled out of the government.

On June 27, Ram Madhav uploaded a photo of himself with several other party MLAs at Sajjad Lone’s house. Lone is the leader of People’s Conference, which has two MLAs, including himself, in the state. Since the photo was released, rumours have been going around of Sajjad Lone being named as the chief of a new political front.

On July 1, Pattan MLA Imran Raza Ansari, former minister in the state cabinet and an influential Shia leader, spoke against Mehbooba Mufti in a rally and blamed her for pushing her family’s interests before the party’s. He is said to have a strong influence over four constituencies.

Four other MLAs, including his relative, Abid Ansari, MLA from Zadibal consitutency in Hazratbal, also speak out. Interestingly, Sajjad Lone is said to be close to the Ansaris.

The BJP has 25 MLAs in the 87-member Assembly. To form a government, it would need 19 more members. “Dissatisfied MLAs” from the PDP, which has 28 MLAs, may contribute to this number.

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday extended the interim protection from arrest granted to former union minister P Chidambaram in the INX Media corruption case till August 1.

Justice A K Pathak, who had earlier granted the interim protection till today, extended the relief to Chidambaram by one more month.

The high court had on May 31 asked the senior Congress leader to join questioning and cooperate in the investigation as and when called by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The CBI, had on the last date of hearing, opposed the anticipatory bail plea saying Chidambaram should have first approached the trial court for relief, instead of the high court.

In Chidambaram’s anticipatory bail plea, it was contended that the former minister was being harassed in the case, in which he was not named.

Chidambaram had on May 30 rushed to a trial court for protection from arrest in the Aircel-Maxis case of the Enforcement Directorate before approaching the high court in connection with the INX Media case.

The senior Congress leader’s role has come under the scanner of investigating agencies in the Aircel-Maxis deal of Rs 3,500 crore and INX Media case involving Rs 305 crore.

It was during his tenure as finance minister in the UPA-1 regime that FIPB clearance was granted to the two ventures in which alleged irregularities have been found.

In the INX Media case, the CBI had registered an FIR on May 15 last year against alleged irregularities in the FIPB clearance to INX Media for receiving overseas funds to the tune of Rs 305 crore in 2007 when Chidambaram was finance minister.

Chidambaram’s son Karti Chidambaram was also arrested in the matter on February 28 for allegedly receiving funds to the tune of Rs 10 lakh in the case. He was granted bail on March 23.

The other accused in the case include then INX Media Director Indrani Mukerjea and then INX News Director Peter Mukerjea.

New Delhi: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Tuesday moved a Delhi court seeking anticipatory bail in the case related to the death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar, in which he has already been summoned as an accused.

The Thiruvananthapuram lawmaker’s plea was filed before Special Judge Arvind Kumar who sought Delhi Police’s response and kept it for hearing on Wednesday. Tharoor was earlier summoned as an accused by a magisterial court for the alleged offences of abetment of suicide and committing cruelty towards Pushkar.

In his plea filed through advocate Vikas Pahwa, Tharoor said the charge sheet has been filed without arrest and the SIT (special investigation team) has categorically stated that investigation has been concluded and no custodial interrogation is required.

“The law is very clear that if the charge sheet is filed without arrest the bail is inevitable. We have only requested for protection so that we appear in the court on July 7,” Pahwa said.

The matter will be heard on Wednesday at 10 am as the prosecutor was not present in the court today, he said. On June 5, a court had summoned Tharoor as accused, asking him to appear before it on July 7 and saying there were sufficient grounds to proceed against him.

Pushkar was found dead in a luxury hotel room on the night of January 17, 2014.

Tharoor has been charged under Sections 498 A (husband or his relative subjecting a woman to cruelty) and 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code.

Chennai: Actor-politician Kamal Haasan has come under criticism from a section of Twitterati over his stand against caste, seeking to remind him of reported remarks made by his daughter Shruti about her caste identity some years back and asked him to start reforms from his own backyard.

Haasan’s recent Twitter remarks that he had refused to fill in the caste and religion column in his daughters’ school admission certificate, was questioned by some Twitter users, asking if that alone could end caste issues.

“I refused to fill in the caste & religion column in both my daughters’ school admission certificate. That’s the only way, it will pass on to the next generation. Every individual shld start contributing fr progress. Kerala started implementing the same. Those who do should be celebrated,” Haasan had tweeted.

However, a Twitter user uploaded a brief part of a TV interview by Shruti Haasan some years back, where she appears to say she was an “Iyengar” (a Brahmin Vaishnavite sect),

“@ikamalhaasan ur attempts to abolish caste has totally failed sir despite you not filling in the school application. Start your reform from home sir. Not filling in caste is not a solution, bring the kids up in a way they don’t know their caste #Hypocrite,” wrote one user.

Shruti had “proudly” identified her father, her sister and herself to be “iyengar,” another Twitter user said, adding “mere removal of the “poonool” (sacred thread-janevu) or tearing apart the caste certificate will not end caste.”

Incidentally, Haasan had made some remarks about the sacred thread also, saying it was one that had “affected” him.

Replying to a Twitter user’s question on the ‘Nool’ (book in Tamil) that impacted him the most, the actor took to wordplay to say he was affected by ‘poonool’ the sacred thread.

‘Nool’ in Tamil refers to book, while the sacred thread is called ‘poonool’ in the language.

“Naan thavirtha nool ondru irukkirathu. Athu ennai migavum bathitha nool — poonool, athanalaye athai thavirthen,” he wrote in Tamil on Twitter.

The tweet roughly translates to “there is one nool (thread) that I was affected most; the poonool.. That is why I avoided it,” he said.

A twitter user, referring to this tweet, told Haasan, “You won’t fill in the caste column in your daughters school application. But you openly declare your identity,” apparently referring to Shruti’s comments.
