Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asked sadhus demanding early construction of a grand Ram Temple at Ayodhya to bear patience for some more time as their dream would be fulfilled.
“We are the world’s largest democracy and the judiciary has its own role. We will also have to honour the judiciary though the demand of the majority in the nation supports construction of a grand Ram temple at Ayodhya,” he said.
Attending the birthday celebration of Mahant Nritya Gopal Das here, the Chief Minister said, ‘We have to ensure that the construction of the grand Ram temple does not create any tension in the society.”
The statement of the UP CM came after several sadhus had expressed annoyance on the delay of construction of the grand Ram Temple at Ayodhya.
Attacking the Opposition, Mr Adityanath said the people who are now talking about the Ram temple were responsible for firing on kar sevaks and had ignored Ayodhya during their regime.
“In the last one year, the BJP government in UP had given Aydhya a global identity,” he asserted.
The CM, later, joined the aarti programme on the banks of the river Saryu.
Former Bharatiya Janata Party MP and Ram Janambhoomi Nyas senior member Dr Ramvilas Das Vedanti, meanwhile, said the BJP will have to suffer if it does not construct the Ram temple.
He even went to the extent of declaring that the Ram temple construction will commence without court orders by 2019 like the demolition of the disputed structure.
Talking to media persons here, the vocal sadhu affirmed that it was only the BJP which can construct the Ram temple and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will again win by a huge mandate in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
“But Prime Minister Modi should intervene and provide 67 acres of land for the Ram temple at the earliest,” he added.
Vedanti, along with several other sadhus, from time to time had threatened to agitate if Ram Temple is not constructed before 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
The government and senior BJP leaders have said that they will abide by the court ruling. The Supreme Court is expected to hear the case on a day-to-day basis from August.
