New Delhi, Apr 5 : The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 1200 hrs on Thursday over the uproar caused by protesting AIADMK members on the Cauvery Water issue.
The Question Hour was wasted yet again as the House had to be adjourned by Speaker Sumitra Mahajan within a minute of the commencement of proceedings.
As soon as the House assembled for the day, the AIADMK members trooped into the Well protesting over their demand for immediate setting up of Cauvery Water Management Board.
While AIADMK members continued to raise slogans “We want justice” and “We want Cauvery Board”, the Amritsar Congress lawmaker from Punjab, Gurjeet Singh Aujla was seen in an apron which has ‘Modi Government must waive off GST on Golden Temple langar’ inscribed on it.
Telugu Desam Party and YSR Congress Party members stood on their places with placards, demanding Special Category Status for Andhra Pradesh.
The AIADMK members raised slogans and forcing the Speaker to adjourn the proceedings of the House till noon.
Both the Houses of Parliament have failed to transact any major business since the beginning of the
second part of the Budget session of Parliament on March 5.
